SHAZAM!: Captain Marvel/The Marvel Family Thread (READ: F*** Superman)

It's about time for Warner Brothers Pictures/DC Comics Films to show MY BOY and his crew some respect by giving him a motion picture for the summer.

CM3 (Captain Marvel Jr.), Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel

BTW, we can talk about Shazam! & The Kids Superpower Hour (with Shazam!), both show from Filmation Productions.

BTW, if the fight could actually stay fair long enough, Captain Marvel would KILL Superman, once and for all. Quote me on this.

You're right. Strength wise they're on par. Supes may have a few extra powers to give Cap a run for his money but Cap's power is based on Supes' main weakness other than Kryptonite...magic.

Supes is vulnerable to magic. I believe that's what Cap's powers are based on.

You won't see a Marvel film until late in the next decade, IMO. WB is doing two more Batman films, a Supes sequel & Joss Whedon's working on Wonder Woman. I prefer WB make Justice League(featuring the Big 3) before tackling the Big Cheese.

New Line Cinema is currently in charge of the production for a Captain Marvel film.

But leave it up to The WB, they'll go for the Wonder Woman movie first. 2 more Batman films will follow. And the next thing you know, We'll be wondering in 2010, why the hell we still don't have Captain Marvel on the big screem yet!

Or maybe not. They still don't have actress qualify to play Wonder Woman yet.

Hell, get Uma Thurman to do it. She's tall enough...all she has to do is add some muscle and dye her hair black.

They could do all this and more if they paced it right.

A MARVEL FAMILY movie would be keen!

(I do remember SUPES kickin' the shit outta CAPT MARVEL in the animated Justice League Unlimited).

A WONDER WOMAN movie? sure, why not, but the real pay off would be a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie centred around WONDERS, GREEN LANTERN, FLASH with cameos by SUPES and BATS - but we are indeed YEARS away from any of that - the current SUPES and BATS films will at least go in2 trilogies b4 a JUSTICE LEAGUE film is even considered.

Back 2 SHAZAM!... bring it on, I thought Patrick Warburton ("Puddy", "The Tick") woulda been perfect - but he ain't getting any younger.

I read in one of those entertainment trade magazines (can't remember which one-sorry) that Jessica Alba might be getting cast as Wonder Woman for a movie scheduled for release in 2008-09.

i'm so tired of jessica alba. i know she's boobacious and hot and all, but can't she just do more FHM pin-ups and leave the movies alone?

You should read the DC Comics/Elseworld graphic novel, Kingdom Come. In this rematch, Captain Marvel damn nearly KILL Superman with those magical lightling bolts. He made the Man Of Steel look like a bytch!

I remember reading the creator of Captain Marvel based his face on Fred 'My Three Sons' McMurray.

Tony's right - go read "Kingdom Come". Cap was downright bad-ass in that book.

That's the big key - you have to have the right people working on superhero films(like Raimi, Singer, Nolan, Whedon, etc.) and a tight script. Otherwise you get sh!t like X-Men 3, F4, Daredevil, Batman & Robin and Catwoman.
