A little input

Im looking for some insite , advise , knowledge!
How do you keep your head together, your stress level down,
your sadness under control?? In times you dont have answers for things??
Or DONT know how to search for happiness!?

As impotent as it may sound, I just look inward and focus on the best aspects of me (as I see them)....sometimes, the introspection is quiet....other times, the first inanimate thing I can kick get the shit kicked out of it....

...I also find that a good mix of Miles, Billie and Bird even me out enough to get a grip....

I don't know, I just keep going and the day passes. And the next one. They always do. I haven't found any way to actually avoid suffering or to make it disappear once it arrives, but I just keep on going. That seems most important.

Stay away from folks who like "Pity Parties" or who like to compare tragedies.
Watch comedies.
Keep positive people around you.
Remember all the silly simple stuff you did as a child and do it again. (if you can) As for me, I have had water balloon/gun fights with the family. Camping in the backyard with the kids. Of course, I go in the house and they sleep outside.
Once you quiet that noise inside then you will be open to the bible, prayers and church. If you go while you are still depressed you may miss your message. I kept my prayers simple. Lord give me strength. Thank you Lord. Once you get to thanking Him for the release before you feel it, good things will happen. He may want you closed off from other folks for a reason, like to protect you from some truly wicked mess. Just a thought.

I'm not one to shove religion down someones throat. But I do like making ppl feel better. So if you have any specific problems org note me. i'll look into some kind of scripture for U.

burn some incense, pick a scent that calms you the minute u smell it (i suggest Super Hit or Nag Champa)
put on some east indian chant music (i happen to love it wink )
and just meditate

that's what i do...and i'm thinking i need to get to it right about now
it wasn't really such a great day for me either... sigh

you try and try and try...and then you realize it's not good enough... shrug

I pray a lot. Doing things mindfully helps.... focus on the moment and let your thoughts go. Takes some practice but it helps.
A good way to try this is with a hot cinnemon candy like a fireball.

Unwrap it and look at it.

Close your eyes and put it in your mouth.

Notice the sensations and flavours it gives you without making judgements (too hot, too hard, ect)

Let your thoughts flow without judgement, notice and let go.

Try to have the experience last as long as you can.

When finished think about the experience and how you stayed in the moment.

You can do this type of thing with all sorts of activities,concentrate on what you're doing at the moment and fully experience it.
If sad or hurtful thoughts come to mind , notice them and let them go.

Oh yeah, do something really nice for yourself:
Take a walk, get a manicure, take a long bath,whatever you like to do the most. rose hug

Go for a long walk and think about the things that are not adding to your happiness...are there things you can do to change those situations? If there are, make a plan and stick with it...you'll be amazed at how things will change for the better smile hug

you keep stress down be letting go of the negative energy stress creates. You could take a tennis raquet and beat up a pillow. Or jump up and down..or go for a jog/walk...the idea is to use physicalness to release the negativity.
