How Many of You Color, Frost or Highlight Your Hair (or Have it Done Professionally)?? Been having mine highlighted professionally for like 20 years now and I love it! My real hair color is a dull mouse brown, and the highlights really add some pizzaz to it. I remember when I first starting having it done, my brothers telling me, "I don't like it!" I remember saying back to them, "Well, I like it, and so do other people." What the hell, it's my hair, I'm going to do whatever I want to it. To hell with what other people think. If they don't like it, that's their problem, not mine. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Me too. I do my hair myself and tend to change colour often. I actually really enjoy doing it myself and trying new things. I have not had a disaster....yet.

I used to do it myself and had lots of luck. I prefer to have it done now, though. One of my close friends does my hair and he's a color genius, so it works out well. |

I used to colour my own but haven't for years, I dont like the end result on me, I prefer to have it done professionally where the colour is more precise.

I'd never colored my hair until about 2 years ago - I wasn't ready to cut off my locs but I wanted to do something different. Went from dark brown to medium honey-brown, I have it done @ the shop 'cause I'm way too scared to do it myself My hair is too long to start all over after a box of dye!

It takes 2 and 1/2 boxes of hair colour to do mine because my hair is incredibly thick and quite long.

Us ladies like our hair a certain color, and we won't accept it any other way. Thanks to all who posted. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I wasn't allowed to color my hair when I was younger, so I used to dip my head in red cool aid, or put peroxide in my hair.
Now I get it done by a pro.....THANK GOD!

I dye my hair more blonde sometimes. It looks horrible at first but I like it when it grows out a little and the sun gives it a more natural colour. Mixed with my light brown/blonde hair it adds texture.

Hehe! You know most people i know (think that i'm crazzzyyyyy sorry had to do that ) no really- alot of people i know had their hair colored in their teenz, whereas I only started getting done say in the past 4 or 5 yearz! The first look i was aiming for was that caramel kinda highlightz to compliment my natural tonez. My normal hair colour being mid-brown with slight tinges of blonde during summer time, which is an echo of the auburn hair i used to have in my baby yearz before i got darker. These dayz I have gone darker and darker and recently i just had my hair done a near- black brown with reddish tones to compliment my skintone and coloring. It was a risk but i figured i wanted to get it done dramatically black since i was 13 so i may as well just fulfill the damn desire! And I absolutely love it!! I'm getting heapz of complimentz for it too- mostly the 'Cleopatra' type onez cause itz so dramatic! What i love about it too is that it'z much darker than my eye colour so it'z an interesting contrast in that way too!! I love it, i'm gonna up-keep this color for sure, it'z just fantabulous!! No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "

You just need to put toner in it and it'll look good right away! I'll bleach your hair for you. |

For years I wouldn't color my hair because I was told constantly that I would develop cancer. Just recently for the first time I had my hair professional highlighted. It looks great, and I hate that I wasted all those years listening to other people.

Ever since I saw "The adventures of sebastian cole" I wanted to do that to my hair. I have naturally black hair, and I want to get a caramel brown or straight blonde in it. That shit would look so damn cute on me. Especially when my hair grows out and gets all springy and coily Lance is SO a bottom

I'd taint it with a few things occasionally.. then give it a little trim or cut it short to give it a different look. I've got natural jet black hair though so even with hair dye it takes on a dark shade with gel on.

As I moved into my 20s, my blond hair turned into .. dirty blond.. it's basically a light brown now.
For some reason I go for the instant shock of bleaching my hair (Eminem, Billy Idol) for spring and then letting the fake blond grow out.

I haven't had my hair its natural color since I was thirteen, I think. I am still trying new colors all the time because I'm bored so easily, and changing my look is a quick way of changing my state of mind. I mean, really, it takes a week to get used to looking at myself with a new hair color. I haven't done it professionally even once, but I really haven't had anything go wrong with it, either, so...as long as nothing goes wrong I'll probably use at-home kits for a long time. Oh, and I highlighted my brown hair with blonde when I was ten or eleven. I wanted to go all out and bleach it but at the time that wasn't an option. HE'S COMING AGAIN

Actually I don't. I really love my natural hair color. It's like a dark chocolate brown. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

What's this product for? Is it shampoo? Hair color- clear or tinted, highly reflective plastic coating. Super shine, low peroxide, washes out in about 6 weeks so no roots. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

Redken Shades EQ- if you aren't using this product SWITCH! I may have worked out a deal with my stylist. He's a good friend of mine and is finally looking into going into business on his own instead of working for a salon as he's got a big following now and would make way more money, but he's SO bad with money and math and such, so I offered to help him with his books and his figuring out his taxes in return for free services. He said if I'd do that he'd be willing to be at my beck and call for styling as well. We'll see when it actually happnes, though. |
