Resturaunts: Going It Alone!

Earlier this evening I was supposed to go to dinner at a nice litter resturaunt with a dinner companion and she decided to punk out for some odd reason or another, so I was kind of dissapointed. I had made reservations and all, and the dinner establishment that I made plans to for is quite delicious, so I decided, F - It, I'm going to eat dinner alone. Now I have eaten dinner alone at McDonalds, Denny's, and other such fine establishements, but never at a high end resturaunt. It was kind of a weird experience, being at a table alone with a bunch of other couples and such around. However the food was worth it. I was just wondering if any of you have ever gone to a high brow place alone? Just curious.

Well of course, I would have paid the tip anyway if I would have gone with a date, thats what a man is supposed to do! (unless you've been dating the other person for quite some time, then thats a whole other story!)

Was only kidding, of course. Not sure how I'd feel about going to a restaurant by myself. hmmm Never had reason to, really.

You could bring your new toothbrush as your dinner date. Brushing after meals is good health!

Just sit at the bar. It doesn't feel as awkward as sitting at a table by yourself IMO.

Hell yes. nod

I love good food, and I love to read over dinner, which most dinner companions find to be rather rude ( lol ), so once in a while, there's nothing better.

Hmm not sure if I have ever eaten alone at a nice resturant. I don't think I have. Not sure if I could. I don't eat out that often, so it's normally well planned in advance.

Actually, I'm sitting here trying to figure out if I ever went ANYWHERE by myself. I really can't remember ONE single time.

I'm weird, i think. confused

OK...I do go out to eat when I am out shopping and find that I am a Starvin Marvin. I just don't think I have purposefully gone out to eat at a fine resturant by myself.

Oh and considering my partner likes oh about 5% of the movies I do, going to the movies alone is a regular thing for both of us.

See, lunchtime I totally have lunch alone (I need my away space at work). But if I wanna indulge in a really nice restaurant, I'm going for the experience and ths social aspect, not just the food. I've eaten dinner out alone, but if we're talking really nice restaurant, I'd rather save that for a time I can share. I can get uber yummy food for cheaper or even takeout, so I can still pamper myself. smile
