i don't know why, but I love Scripto mechanical pencils..you used to be able to see the coil of the mechanical thing that pushed the lead foward. No longer made

I used to love making them and I used to love receiving them - but making them was the best thing ever.

You had to devote a whole night to working out what you were going to put on it and try to get the timing right, to make it fit 45 minutes. Then you had to sit there, pressing the pause button so you didn't get the "clunk" noise between tracks. The process forced you to listen to each song in it's entirety.

Dragging and dropping files to a CD-R, just isn't as much fun.
