I couldn't believe it. I washed out my folks fish bowl as the three fish they have had made a right pooey mess. Anyway, I was rather careless. I'd cleaned the bowl with washing up liquid and thought I'd rinsed it out. Imagine my horror when I woke up this morning to find they'd had all passed away and sunk to the top. Obviously the bowl hadn't been rinsed properly.

Feeling guilty, I went out and brought some replacements. I didnt know they were that expensive! Anyway, I took them home and put them in a bowl of water and went into Sheffield to mooch round the shops and have a pint. A few hours later I came home and OMG, two of the fish had jumped out of the bowl and were lying flat on their side in the plug hole! I managed to rescue one which was swimming about like mad and put it back in the original bowl. I was shitting it a wee bit as it didnt move for ages. Anyway, I kept poking it to get it to swim and eventually it resumed normal behaviour.

Fuck, 5 dead gold gish in one day. I am a fish nightmare.

Anyway, have you had any pet horror stories lately?

We just got 20 tiger barbs about a month ago.
I was watching tv and I looked over at the tank. And all of them were gathered around one fish at the bottom. I stared at it closely and the one fish was dead. I stared at it some more to make sure...I thought dead fish floated...it wasnt floating.
So I scooped up the poor thing,said a lil prayer and flushed it
It was so sad how they gathered around it and when I removed it,they looked for him ....well I think they were looking for him

Who told you to use soap to clean the tank? The only thing you can do is dump it out and scrub it with a clean scouring pad. Cats and dogs take baths in soap not the poor fishy's! It must be an org fish epidemic. Fish are just dying all over this place. One more death and we have our third and then it will be over with!
