Did Ann Mags wind up w/much screen time?

she got to rock an enormous early '80s cell phone with woodgrained panel decals.

I remember she wanted to go with an entirely over the top Eurotrash accent, but the director nixed it. From what I've heard about the film, I can understand how this would've stuck out like a sore thumb amongst what was otherwise a very subtle production. nod

Straw Dogs and/or Yojimbo.

Yes! Anything by Kurosawa is good.I think Seven Samurai is right up there with Gone With The Wind & Citizin Kane. Other excellent movies by him are Throne of Blood, Ikiru,Rashomon, & Ran. Weird, you mentioned Straw Dogs.I rented Kurosawa's Stray Dogs & unbenknownst to me the video store clerk gave me Straw Dogs instead lol .

I'm just getting started on Kurosawa, as of yet I've just seen The Bad Sleep Well, Sanjuro and Yojimbo, but it's all been great. Rashomon's next, and I'll probably watch The Seven Samurai after that.

Did you watch Straw Dogs when you got it by mistake?

What type of movies do you enjoy?

I like all kinds of stuff... I like the off-the-beaten-path kinda movies - the diamonds in the rough, if you will. I love watching really good movies that are just kinda under the radar, ya know?

Except BOONDOCK SAINTS.....rolleyes

The Manchurian Candidate--good conspiracy stuff

Broken Flowers--slow, but nice & Bill Murray is subtle & good.

The Matador--the first time I've thought Pierce Brosnan was actually good

There's that episode of Cheers where it's on and everybody scoffs at how cheesy & sentimental it is & how they're all sick of it, then a minute later they're all crying and calling their mothers.

Well, you'll love Seven Samurai. It's one of those epic movies.three hours long & one doesn't lose interest in it all becuase it's made so well. The buildup to the epic battle scene at the end is so cool, making the battle scene itself a great payoff.I also reccomend listening to the audio commentary , the guy really breaks it down! No, I haven't seen Straw Dogs yet maybe this Friday night.
