cold showers are great. go to the local drug store and see if they have mentholated body powder, like gold bond or shower to shower or something like that. i use mentholated body powder that i buy when i visit NYC, and i swear by it. it's like rubbing your body with altoids. curiously strong!

But, I know what you're going through...I didn't have air conditioning for several years and I lived upstairs...it would get so hot my candles would melt. A cold shower really helps...and have a fan blow on you...it might at least help you get some sleep.

Yeah, this heatwave is pretty nasty.

We have a couple window unit A/Cs, but my dumb butt always forgets to take them in during the cold months... and friggin' birds have made condos out of BOTH of them! They no longer work.

I feel for Rhondab because I'm going through the same thing over here. IT'S GOING TO BE 94° DEGREES TODAY!!! First of all, I live in Northern Germany...3 hours from HOLLAND...if you cross the water DENMARK AND SWEDEN and on the other side....how the HELL is it 94° degrees here???? I've been living here off and on for over 10 years and it has NEVER been 94° degrees here! Plus, all these old ass turn of the century apartment buildings don't have air condidtioning. It's never over 75° here in the summertime. A heatwave for us is 78° . Everytime you see somebody come outside to their terrace, they look CRAZY. Everybody's all red and flushed, clutching on to water bottles for dear life. Inside the house I haven't worn clothes for the whole week. Just running around in a sarong, or buck nekkid with some pink flip flops.

I never thought I'd see the day, but I had to bust out and get a fan today. And now I'm going to do that wet towel thingy you suggested when I lay down later. Luckily I don't have to contend with big breasteses because I would probably lose my mind with all this heat! All I know is, the next time I hear somebody tell me that global warming is a myth...I'ma smack the s**t out of 'em
