Well, it certainly had a structure similar to Empire, though I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "rip off". You didn't have Davy Jones announcing that he was Jack Sparrow's father (although, Will Turner DID meet up with his daddy, so there was a bit of that). If Keira Knightly is revealed to be William Turner's sister in the third part, then I'll agree.

If Elizabeth (Keira Knightly) were found to be Will Turner's (Orlando Bloom) sister..... then Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) gets Elizabeth!!!
