Do you Like SPIDERS? eek

Yeah, so I just thought, because i've not been out the house in 3 days, that I would go check my mail. Our mail is delivered to a stand alone box up the conner of our street. Anyway, when I was walking up to house door, I see a black speck, and as I walked closer and closer, it was quite easy to reconize. There not more then a foot and a half from my house door handle was the deadly black widow spider. The largest I've ever seen. Though I've only seen 4 in my life time.

I can't stand them. Since I am living in Ft Huachuca,AZ (I swear the Army farms spiders on this post) and this is the land o spiders I have gotten used to them. I haven't had bad luck of seeing a black widow but there are black furry ones that come up to the door (I guess to borrow a cup of sugar) and tarantulas. I was told by someone to just let the tarantula walk onto your hand and bring it outside. They are supposed to be gentle...like kittens. I don't agree...they look like they eat kittens.

I had wished I was not out of bug spray. When a find like that comes along, I like to give it a good dose of posion and collect the body for examination.

I've been killing an inordinate amount of blackish spiders in my home this year... but I leave the daddy-long-legs because they trap small pesky flies and moths. I feel the need to kill the darker ones... because you never know when you'll run into the Brown Recluse spider... ack! the flesh-eating venom! omg

However, in a twist of irony - I had the HUGEST crush on Spiderman as a kid biggrin

Spiders are wonderful. I hope to have a tarantula someday. They are very clean, smart creatures; and they do us a favor, by killing the flys.

Don't remind me. The nightmares shall forever live with me.

I had a terrible spider experience when I was six. I was getting ready for school one morning when I saw this spider crawling across the floor. I didn't see where it went, but I remained focused on it. When I went to grab my shirt to put it on, I happened to feel underneath the armpit part where the seams meet to form a bunch of wadded knots. Because I was so focused on the spider, with my wild imagination I associated the wadded knots with the spider and began screaming at the top of my lungs. I was holding my armpit thinking that I was actually holding on to the spider. I was so hysterical that my dad had to literally shake me to get me to calm down. Of course when we checked, dthere wasn't a spider in my armpit, but that's just how much I hated them then -- now and forever!!! mad

EEEKKK!

Those are the ones that you need to shoot. And then that just may piss them off. I have never heard of a soldier go from zero to BITCH in 2.2 seconds. Let him see one of those things in his tent...

I used to have the attitude of "don't kill spiders, they help catch flies" which I hate more than spiders
then I saw what the brown recluse can do to human flesh...
now "all spiders must die"
I try not to use spray. What dose'nt kill them might make them stronger lol
...and it's true there seems to be more spiders this year nod

Oh please. That thing is tiny. I give spiders free rein of my apartment. All insects however are to be killed on sight. The only time I had to remove a spider was when a big-ass one crawled into the tub from the bathroom window. I just took a ruler and placed it back out on the window ledge. No big deal.

Spiders are our friends. smile

Insects like roaches, beetles, centipedes, etc. are man's worst enemy. mad
