ONLY JOHNNY DEPP(Benny and Joon...What The H*** Is This?) can be in a movie in which he makes grilled cheese sandwiches using an iron and the ironing board as a skillet?!

I love his quirkyness too, he has the sensitivity of a child, its rare to see in an adult.

Benny and joon ~ a truly extraordinary and beautiful movie and I love the music!!!!
One of my favourite Johnny Depp movies. I love Edward Scissorhands and Chocolate and bunches of others I'm not thinking of at the moment. He seems so Un~actor like ~ so sincere. It is a joy to see his interaction with the other actors and how he brings his own left of center uniqueness to his character. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

Depp's one of the few really great actors around. What makes him great is not just his incredible talent and versatility or that's he's mind-numbingly beautiful. (those help though) It's also that he's just so unactorly. You always hear of so-and-so actor or actress being down to earth and real, but with Johnny for once that doesn't seem like complete bullshit. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

apparently he got into show business as a musician, first. in a band and such.

I wouldn't mind a depp/deniro flick...(not like the awful one deniro made with Sean "looking where the photographers are before I help someone in New Orleans" Penn...

I don't know a single person who's got a bad word to say about him or his work. That's rare, especially for someone who geared away from the mainstream in his 20s and 30s.
