How on earth do you get mp3s on to your phone???

My friend just bought a new mobile phone for his girlfriend yesterday, but can't get mp3s on to it. He downloaded the tracks she wanted from Shareaza, and thought he could just drag them into the removable drive when he plugged the mini-SD card in a card reader into the USB port. Any ideas why this isn't working, or suggestions as to what he should do instead?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, thanks. neutral

The mobile was a special gift for his girlfriend, who works long hours, spends a long time waiting at bus stops and sitting in traffic on the way home and usually doesn't get home until 8pm. He wanted to buy her an mp3 phone so she'd have something to do, and he's desperate to work out how to do this, and you give me that? confused

Yeah, but they're not the best. The files are in mp3 format and the phone has a mini-SD card that fits in a kind of dummy SD card, goes in the card reader and then into the USB port. I know very little about phones so I don't really have any suggestions for him. He really wants to work it out because his gf was so happy about having the new phone and being able to listen to music on it.

Do you plug the memory card from your phone into the computer in the same way?

my phone has a slot for a memory card, but i don't have one. i don't keep any full length songs on my phone b/c it takes up too much of the internal memory (without a memory card).

what kind of phone is it?

iMobile, a Korean brand, I believe. Not sure what model.

I didn't think this would be so difficult, and nor did he.
