Chihuly at The New York Botanical Garden

Last weekend I went to go check out the Chihuly exhibit at The New York Botanical Gardens. For those of you who don't know Chihuly is an artist who works with blown glass.

The ticket prices were expensive, it ended up costing us about $65.00 to go when the usual non-Chihuly cost is about $12.00. Not only was the day overcast ( not their fault), but a lot of the flowers were dead( oh yeah that ones on them). confused It was a bit of a disapointment, but some of the artwork was pretty impressive.

I took a bunch of photos, here's a few .....

You can see the dead flowers here..... lol

If you want to go, you should it's nice to walk around in a peaceful place and the forest is wonderful...I just was looking forward to it for a while and it just fell short of my expectaions.

Here's the offical website: http://www.nybg.org/

This dude is awesome. Did you see the pieces of art he made for the city of Venice? He put these huge pieces over the walk ways and one in the water. The water piece was backlit and it blew me away. I thought I wanted a piece of Chihuly till I saw how much a small bauble cost. Maybe in my next life. lol

A small glass ball cost $28.00, the larger peices ranged $1,500 for his sketches, and $5,000 plus for the larger stuff.

It's really not that bad a price, I think it's a pretty good investment.
I don't have that much to spend on that right now though lol

He doesn't make the sulptures, he just designs them and his assistants make them. I think that's kinda wrong. lol

But yeah I've seen photos of the Venice stuff....really beautiful! nod

No, these were interior pieces -- vases and indoor sculptures. I couldn't get over it.

Gorgeous!!!

When we were there , this little girl kept screaming "BALLOONS!BALLONS!" and pointing...everyone was laughing because she was so cute and so little...then this dumbass bimbo turns to her musclehead date and says

" Wait, they are made out of balloons? confuse

And the date was like " eek Ummm...yeah...sure they are. innocent"

and then the bimbo looks at the yellow thing like this hmmm

then the date looks at her ass and does this big grin mr.green and he might as well had a billboard on his forehead that read:

" I am so getting some from this silly bitch tonight!"

falloff

Ya gotta heart people sometimes. lol
