SUre we all heard of Mr Boogieman living in the basement, but my folks made an art at coming up with names of people who did not exist...

We had "Bobo The Tent Maker" and "King Faruk". I have no idea who these folks were or where they came from. One makes clothes and one's some sort of King of the Universe or something!

Did your parents ever make up any people to scare you to do stuff? Or made the off reference of someone you had no idea about, yet they would cackle at the mere mention of said person?

Well we had the Cucuuy (Koo-koo-ee) which was like a child thief. I was so scared of the cucuuy when I was a kid

No my parents were pretty honest with us about everyone, including people like "Santa Claus." It was the kids that made up fictatious - fictitious I mean - people. They were handy to blame things on, rather like Herman now.

my dad did little to support the tales ...and for me i am very thankful he remained ture to his heart on NOT telling the tales

i used to use the BANSHEE to scare my friends but i swear she was real

My older brother used to tell me that cannibals lived under my bed. I was scared so everynight I would run and jump on my bed from as far away as I could so I wouldn't get mear the edge of it. Then one night he snuck into my room, hid under the bed, waited until my mom put me to bed and turned out the lights and waited a few minutes more for good measure and I slowly saw this hand creep up on top of the bed from under it.



I screamed and cried and ran from the room.

He was MEAN!!

My brother and sister would tell me bout my older brother Arnold, who was taking a syringe to my dad to inject a pig with medicine. Arnold slipped and injected himself thus turning himself into a pig.

When I asked Where He was now, Dad sold him to the market.
