Aw, babes!
Give her lots of Passionflower tincture! Oatstraw infusion every day is good. Try making one every night. Take a quart-size jar, throw two good handfuls of oatstraw herb in there, fill with boiling water, cover, and steep overnight. Strain it in the morning and see if she'll drink it throughout the day. It's great iced. Fresh chickweed, for some reason is specifically awesome for old folks in need of some rejuvenation. I don't know if it grows anywhere near you but it's an abundant wild weed here in the Northeast. Skullcap is another good infusion for the nervous system. Does she take painkillers? Some folks who take opiates, or have in the past, have more trouble with their nervous system and skullcap is specifically good for those people. Ginkgo Biloba has been used by lots of people for senility and memory loss with good results. Careful if she uses blood-thinners, though, as ginkgo can increase those effects. Taking Vitamin E capsules (400 IU) has also been known to help. Don't underestimate the power of food, either. Make sure she is getting plenty of healthy fats (olive oil, oily fish, some organic butter). A diet that is too low in fat can make these problems worse. Lots of whole grains will supply essential fatty acids that her brain needs. She should definitely limit white sugar and white flour. Good luck, love. The Normal Whores Club

See if you guys can sneak some nourishment in here and there...slather some bread with lots of butter...stir a spoonful of olive oil into some chocolate pudding (Thank the Goddess for pudding...for some reason people will usually eat it long after they've refused everything else). Peanut butter...anything with natural fat that's nutrient- or even calorie-dense. The Normal Whores Club

My youngest daughter can't have dairy anymore since it aggravates her asthma, so we don't have it in the house anymore in solidarity with her. But once in a while I sneak a tub of this stuff... Yes, I did warn you that a diet of alcohol, cigarrettes and pigs' nails wouldn't actually get you very far.

this thread is a perfect example of why i LOVE this place. I try and try to explain to people about the love and community that we share here and they just don't get it.
I also have a confused elderly mother as does my sister...I am going to try all that you mentioned funkmistress and will add you to my mental rolodex of experts on the org to you and Mach for asking. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou
