I've a special fondness in my heart for sleeping bags. Maybe it was formed from when I was a small child and I would be taken camping. I've always, for no good reason, had a love for sleeping bags the rest of my life and will buy one evey now and again. I love how they wrap you like a baby in swaddeling cloths. I find myself even now, living in the desert without ever planning on going camping, wanting and searching for one online.

What about you? Why do you love sleeping bags?

I own 2 sleeping bags. One of them is actually a fairly nice one I bought that's warm but squishes down to almost nothing for when I went backpacking in europe.
God, I hate camping.

Never really had an opinion on sleeping bags.

Sleeping bags are fantastic. It's amazing how warm they can keep you on a cold night, once you're all zipped in.

i have over 8 sleeping bags for different range of weather camping

my -60 degree one is the BOMB when we camp out new yrs eve !

Oooh, sleeping bags. I was in a sleeping bag when I had my first kiss. And a few other firsts, too.

We (my kids and I) have real expensive sleeping bags and airpads. Ask me if we've ever gone camping with them though...

I have a few sleeping bags, my favorite is my -20C that saved my ass when I went camping to ski for a weekend.

I know what you mean about nostalgia, more than the snugglyness of a sleeping bag, they remind me of sleepovers, camping, getting inside them upside down and fighting your brother (who is similarly upside down in his sleeping bag), sleeping bag races - the old seventies ones that were rectangular, wedge a foot in each corner and run like hell

I hate their guts I get claustrophobic in one!

I have an issue however. Now that I have to money for a great sleeping bag, I live in the desert, and there's not a need for a great sleeping bag in the desert.
