Beyond the relatively small amount of time spent reading, meditating or exercising each day, I either go on the net (from 6:30am until usually around midday - then maybe again in the evening, like now), go out shopping or socialising, or watch TV. Right now I can hear that film with Cedric and Vanessa Williams behind me, but I'm here on the net, as usual. It kills my sex life, seriously. I'm interacting with you guys when I really should be pounding some flesh.

I turn the tv on when I go to bed. Puts me right to sleep.

It means you know the conventional, co-dependent meaning of things but know that nothing is inherently and independently existent. Or, it means we'd get on if we sat outside and had a glass of wine or two together.

CalhounSq said: (assuming you have a tv)... Are you one of those people that turn on the tv as soon as you hit the door? If so, WHY? Do you use it as background noise? If yes, what's wrong with silence Or music Do you fall asleep to the television? If so, are you actually watching as you fall asleep or is it just on to be on? How loud is the volume?? +++++ I'm one of those people who only turns it on when there's something I want to see (and not just since Tivo). Hearing the tv on all the time is pretty annoying to me, but I know lots of people who literally cannot function without the noise/distraction My 12 year old nephew comes over & he is MANIC until I turn the shit on & turn over the remote to him And he ALWAYS has to have something electronic on - the dvd player in the car, the gameboy wherever he goes... Maybe I'm just being an old bat (who didn't have so much access as a kid) but it doesn't seem right Anyway, though I find the dependence odd I do fall asleep with the tv on most of the time though but only if there's a sleep timer - there's nothing worse than waking up to the sound of that damn thing I turn to something I'm interested in even if I know I'm going to sleep & the volume has to be extremely low, I really just like to have a little light in the room So tell me, what are your tv habits?? I am not a TV-aholic....I rarely watch it, I only own one, and TiVO the programs I am interested in (and even those expire sometimes because I do not watch them fast enough, nor do I bother to go in and ask TiVO to save until I delete them!). I just LOVE music, but I also enjoy blissful silence....it just depends upon my mood whether or not I have anything on/playing ~ TV or otherwise. "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. I'm not gonna front like I don't watch because I do.
Generally seasonal... The Sopranos 24 The Wire The Shield ...series that the wife and I catch. There are many music shows that I DVR... Legends of Jazz Soundstage Austin City Limits Studio Jamz (when I had cable) Award Shows (so that I can FF my way through the tired parts) ...and watch when I have time. And then there's my main man... ...Fred G. Sanford (period) (*note to self - Get the DVD box set) TV in the bedroom? Of course. How else can you watch porno? Lately we've left the set on and drifted off to sleep listening to the Sirius Contemporary Jazz music channel. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. There's far too much jealousy, hate, fear and greed in the world for my warrior poet soul to pour its sparkly manna into any mould of happiness. But there's no shame in enjoying watching a handsome man performing life-saving surgery then shagging the nurse. Shame stems from fear and without fear there is only room for love, which is a condensed vibration of the Big Bang's eternal echo - God's molecules ripping if you will.
