zero TVs on the main floor or upper floor of our home...
we have a TV room in the basment i watch TV maybe 1-2 hrs every 4th-5th day MAYBE !! our TV may be on between TR - kids ( during non soccer seasons ) perhaps 2-3 hrs a day MAYBE during school yr and soccer seasnon our TV sometimes goes 2-3 days without being flicked on at all  | |

+++++ I'm one of those people who only turns it on when there's something I want to see (and not just since Tivo). Hearing the tv on all the time is pretty annoying to me, but I know lots of people who literally cannot function without the noise/distraction My 12 year old nephew comes over & he is MANIC until I turn the shit on & turn over the remote to him And he ALWAYS has to have something electronic on - the dvd player in the car, the gameboy wherever he goes... Maybe I'm just being an old bat (who didn't have so much access as a kid) but it doesn't seem right
Anyway, though I find the dependence odd I do fall asleep with the tv on most of the time though but only if there's a sleep timer - there's nothing worse than waking up to the sound of that damn thing  I turn to something I'm interested in even if I know I'm going to sleep  & the volume has to be extremely low, I really just like to have a little light in the room 
So tell me, what are your tv habits?? I am not a TV-aholic....I rarely watch it, I only own one, and TiVO the programs I am interested in (and even those expire sometimes because I do not watch them fast enough, nor do I bother to go in and ask TiVO to save until I delete them!). I just LOVE music, but I also enjoy blissful silence....it just depends upon my mood whether or not I have anything on/playing ~ TV or otherwise.  "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Ours is on from like 8 am to 10 am. Then it goes on again from like 10pm to 12ish. Oh except when the WB shows and the OC and all are on. The it's on from like 8pm to 12ish. | |

I'm not gonna front like I don't watch because I do.
Generally seasonal... The Sopranos 24 The Wire The Shield ...series that the wife and I catch. There are many music shows that I DVR... Legends of Jazz Soundstage Austin City Limits Studio Jamz (when I had cable) Award Shows (so that I can FF my way through the tired parts) ...and watch when I have time. And then there's my main man...
