Great game, totally addictive!

Though I did kinda play through the main quest without really levelling up
very much, and without learning much magic etc.

I've now started to get into spells and enchantments a bit more, and now have
an enchanted robe that lights my way in the dark (pretty cool, I don't need
torches anymore).

I must admit that picking locks used to drive me mad when I first started
playing, but now I've got pretty adept at it. Loved playing through the Dark
Brotherhood quests! And the one where you go into a level in a painting was
pretty cool too.

Night vision is better than Light, I think. That way the light doesn't give you away when you're sneaking. I sneak alot! I use a ring of Night Vision and have it hot keyed so I can take it on and off easily.

It was just a regular robe I'd picked up at some point, and I found I could
enchant it just like a sword or any other weapon.

Baldur's Gate may still be my favorite game ever, but I couldn't get into BGII. I like the semi-no-linear set up of pt I, but II was too linear and too many friggin' trolls. Ever play Neverwinter Nights?

Uhm... after you get out of Irenicus' dungeon, BGII is anything but linear in Chapter II wink. Yea, I've got Neverwinter Nights and the Icewind Dale games.

Hmm. Maybe I should try it again then. It seemed completely linear to me. BGI is still my favorite rpg ever, though. Followed by Morrowind and Oblivion.

Well, in chapter II, you can pretty much wander around the city and the neighbouring areas freely and do loads of different quests. IWD & IWD2 on the other hand are completely linear neutral

Yeah, and I'll prolly get it. I like Neverwinter Nights, but I wish it was more like Baldur's Gate. I don't mind a game being a little complicated, but NN is unnecessarily so and it gets tedious. Takes the fun out of it. BG was perfect.

I really don't know anything about it. I was big into BG1, but not BG2 - much like yourself. NN2 looks just like ES4 - like, identical.

I hope it's trimmed down from NN1. The inventory and everything about that game was just way more complicated than it needed to be. You're saying it looks like Oblivion? I'm skeptical, but I hope so. I wish there were more 1st person rpgs.

Well, graphically - NN2 alters between 1st and 3rd person from what I can tell. What makes it different is the use of magic in the game. I haven't done my research because I'm more interested in RPGs due out later.

My graphics card barely makes the cut. confused

There's other games out there that I'd like to get as well, so it'd have to wait anyway.

There's new Oblivion content due out on the 17th. "The Vile Lair," especially for vampires.

I've downloaded every expansion for the game, but I haven't played "Mehrune's Dagger" yet.

I plan on getting the expansion when:

a) I'm not a poor teenager lol

and ergo

b) when I've finished the game.

The expansions are only like $2 each. Check 'em out: http://obliviondownloads....tegoryId=1

Like its predessor "Morrowind," you'll only really enjoy the PC version if your machine is really powerful. But the PC version is better because their are endless plug-ins and modifications to the game available online.

I'm playing the XBox 360 version and I love the 360. I have a big HD tv, though, and wanted to take advantage of the 360 being the first console for HD tvs. The 360 is also a great media/dvd player, and they'll have an HD Dvd player available for the 360 pretty soon. I love the 360, but it many cost you less to update your computer than to buy a 360.
