devil on the doorstep

we called this game baked Beans for supper!!!

You hide a belt somewhere and then the group goes to look for it....whoever found the belt hollered baked beans for supper and proceeded to whup ass until you were able to run back to base!!!

Anonymous phone calls. I was dialing a number, and started a story, each time different. My favorite was to talk with old ladies and start to cry, asking them to pick me up cuz I was their grandchild, lost, and didn't know any other number, while my best friend was listening and laughing. Difficult (and nasty) exercise.

-Bloody Mary (with a flashlight under our chin in front of the mirror)
-We would collect chicken eggs and climb the nearest hill above a road... and throw them at cars.
-Marco Pollo in the middle of the night... sheer darkness.
-River tag... and river swim contests... (who could swim directly across a flowing river, hard as hell)
-Rope acrobats across the river too... we has the best swimming areas.
-Evel Knievel dirt bike contests... yes, we were ruthless... lining up objects and bikes, to see who could jump the most.
-Jumping contests... off High objects. (I never broke a bone)
-Tree Climbing contests... we had some awesome trees...

I was such an active kid... and at 35, I can still do back handsprings, back flips... on the trampoline and diving boards.

We had a blast growing up...

King Of The Mountain

Basically, if there was a big hill around, you would try to stay on the top as long as you can, while everyone else was trying to throw you down the hill so they could be the King and try to stay up there, while everyone tried to throw THEM down the hill


and so on and so on.....never really had a winner, but you got to throw your friends off a hill, so it was fun.

When we had the Oven Bake oven... I remember we would see who could back the grossest thing... and eat it.

Oh... and Chicken Egg eating contest... raw and freshly gathered... with chicken poops still on them.

Truly... the list of things we did... is endless.

Oh yeah, we had this game we'd play with a tennis ball and a wall, and if you missed the ball too much, you'd have to stand face first to the wall, while everyone got a chance to throw the tennis ball at your ass as hard as they possibly could.

Ummm, okay. Let's see...

I remember we used to have a HELL of a lot of karaoke style performances in our house...whether it was just for ourselves or at family gatherings. My first ever recording was at maybe 6 years old with my sister singing some disco on my mom's tape recorder....I think it was Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"..!!! That was the kind of craziness we engaged in ALLLL the time; people just bursting out into song for clearly NO reason, and then attracting undue attention to ourselves

When I was really little, like three and four years old, I used to lay on the stairs on my stomach and slide down the steps and let my hands flop around. I did it with my brother beside me and for some reason we called it "The Campbell." We're still not sure why, but it cracks us up every time. We used to do it, then climb to the top of the steps again and do it all over again, so it pretty much was a game.
