Ex-Moderator | i made pasta salad and it's not very good.
I was too lazy to go grocery shopping so it's all I really had in the house. Pasta nugget-y things, carrots, red peppers and onions. Some italian dressing and lots of pepper. bleh. it's a very boring dinner. What are you having? |

Yeah, I will have dinner around midnight my time. But I don't have breakfast until about 1pm so it works out. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Cause it all sounds yummy w/BBQ sauce, but that's a lotta sauce in one meal. Sounds better than my dinner anyway. |

I don't eat pasta salads, I can't stand 'em. It's either just salad or a full on meal with salad on the side. Btw, when I say mustard, it has to be Dijon French Mustard - nothing else. I guarantee you, mixed right, it's delicious. Not too much mustard, a fair bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, a pinch of black pepper.

I just never keep mustard around. I don't use it much. a simple balsamic dressing is my fave. A good balsamic and oil, pepper, and maybe a little brown sugar. I do like the mustard though, too. |

Some italian dressing and lots of pepper. bleh. it's a very boring dinner. What are you having? Japanese soba noodles topped with seared carpaccio beef...I cooked them in a simple broth made with a boullion cube, sliced scallions, sesame seeds, ginger, lemongrass, and some cilantro sprigs. It was hot today here, but then it rained, so I was craving something warm and soup-like for the rain, but still light enough to keep me from falling over in the nightime humidity. The pasta salad thingy doesn't really sound all that bleh...especially if it was hot over by you...I crave cold, salad-y foods on hot days. I would have made a cold penne salad for dinner (penne, hearts of palm, tomatoes, mozzerella, basil), but I cooked for a friend's birthday party and overdosed myself on all things Italian for at LEAST a week. It's a pity because I'm up to NECK in friggin risotto, fritatta wedges, antipasti, and enough homemade pesto to feed an army. It might be time for me to start delivering plates to neighbors

When I used to cook anything vaguely asian I always used boullion as a base for sauce, but now that I'm practically veggie, I really, really need something similar but without animal product.
