They paid for the episodes, they know people want to see them, so they're doing the right thing in airing them. I don't know how you can blame them. Because they r completely disregarding the wishes of the series creator, star and main creative force. Cutting a check doesn't automatically make U right. Yeah, cutting a check actually does make you right I'm afraid. If you buy a painting from an artist, you don't just give it back because the artist changes his mind about the composition or palette. Recordings, artwork, entertainment...when you're paid for it, it's commissioned work and becomes the property of the patron. It really hasn't changed since the Renaissance as much as modern artists like to think it has. You can't sell your work and own it too.

I'm not denying their legal right 2 do it, but it's about an episode's worth of aborted would-be season 3 material patched 2gether, spread out over 3 shows and being passed off as something new. Capitalist intentions aside, it's a sh*tty move on Comedy Central's part and 1 that I am completely not in support of. He said on CNN last night in an interview with Anderson Cooper. That he was told not to speak of the $50 million deal publicly to anyone. He said the very next day it was in the papers sayin he had a $50 million dollar deal and to him that was like putting a $50 million public price on his head. He said that people start having agendas towards him after that.
Comedy Central was like dance muthafucka dance, and he was like Fuck you keep the change.

Weird, though. I've heard him complain that that he wasn't given enough creative control. But on Anderson Cooper, his problem was that they gave him the money and expected him to do everything on his own, that they weren't helping him run it.

They showed it again this morning on CNN It probably will be aired again Here is a good summary. Friday, July 07 Chappelle admits he'll watch his 'Lost Episodes' NEW YORK (CNN) -- Comedian Dave Chappelle, who stunned fans when he abandoned a $50 million contract for his hit show on Comedy Central, then disappeared, said his life was "completely different" once the sum was made public. Chappelle told CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" several circumstances led him away from the show last year, and his tiff with the cable network began when he was asked not to mention the terms of the contract which he had signed. "Whatever you do, don't mention how much you're making. It should be a big secret," he said he was told. "So I go, 'Fine, I won't.' And the next morning in the paper, it's like Dave Chappelle makes 50 million dollars, which is like putting a social hit on a person." Comedy Central on Sunday will begin airing "Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes," which were made before he walked away with no public explanation. He fled to South Africa, but rumors swirled in the media that Chappelle had a drug problem or had checked into a mental institute. The entertainer known for his biting satire and wit on racial and cultural issues reluctantly admitted that he'll be watching the shows. "I'm not going to lie. I'll watch. It will be like watching 'The Cosby Show' when it's just Rudy and Vanessa," Chappelle said, referring to the sisters on the show. "It's like, hey, where's Bill (Cosby) at?"

Yeah, not bad. The skits that weren't about the money were actually the funny ones.
You know, Neil, Ashy Larry, and Charlie Murphy were pretty damn funny. Wish they'd all do their own show.

i don't think so. these three episodes are pretty much it, as far as i know. in living color went on for a coupla seasons i think, much like the scary movie franchise. i think dave comes out of this situation on top--should be high viewership numbers--i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with a gig on showtime or hbo--like chris rock you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Funny thing is, Prince only wrote slave on his face after signing the contract and accepting the huge payoff. Dave Chappelle didn't agree to a payoff, and is truly free.

Dave agreed and took the payoff, he's just in a different position than Prince was. After Prince signed his contract he wasn't in a position to walk away and still be able to get the music to the masses. Dave is fortunate in that he can walk away from the deal and still get his comedy out in other ways. But he ain't free to do Chappelle Show on another network.
