yeah, the cow is great. there is a second disc included in my
version of the release with making of and interviews with the
characters, but i'm a little apprehensive about watching that
since i don't want it to affect my view of the film.

I saw years ago on T.V and havent seen it since, I wouldnt mind seeing it again.

The behind the scenes footage can rub away a little of that magic, I know what you mean.

if you ever get The Sea Inside, the doco on making the film was almost better than the film itself! Otherwise I avoid special features mostly

I rarely buy or rent DVDs. I currently have the following lying around that my parents lent me:

Woody Allen boxset (Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy; Zelig; Broadway Danny Rose; Hannah & Her Sisters; Radio Days)
Curb Your Enthusiasm (first 3 seasons)
Seinfeld (not sure which seasons)

These were gifts:

Madonna: The Girlie Show
The Ben Stiller Show

Springsteen: MTV 'Plugged'

Won a bunch of Springsteen bootleg DVDs in an Xmas raffle and the three most recent Springsteen CD releases all come with DVDs (We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions; Born to Run 30th Anniversary reissue and Devils & Dust). Chris Rock's Never Scared also comes with a DVD.

DVDs, per se, I actually bought:

I'm Going to Tell You a Secret (Madonna documentary)
Please Leave Quietly: PJ Harvey on Tour
VH1 Storytellers: Bruce Springsteen
Later with Jools Holland: Even Louder
Bruce Springsteen: Live in Barcelona
America's Next Top Model, Cycle 1

I tend to record a lot of TV direct to DVD and here's some things from recent weeks:

Big Brother
Canada's Next Top Model
Big Time (Tom Waits concert film)
My Life on the D-List (Kathy Griffin reality show)
The Apprentice
Being Mick (Mick Jagger documentary)
Ali G
Conan O'Brien
Family Business

Hi Ace wave
Woody's next film will be Spanish giggle
Don't worry. The money and location (Barcelona) will be Spanish but it will be shot in English.

And I have 30+ Woody Allen DVDs. The cheap bastard has balls. No 5.1 Surround Mix. Not even stereo shake His films have mono sound!!! eek

his DVDs are SO threadbare, which i guess is keeping with his crotchety luddite nature. sigh

i've been wanting to get "husbands and wives" and "deconstructing harry" on DVD for a while now, but i'm not going to pay full retail for what little is offered on his DVDs. better i should find 'em used on amazon or something.

Nothing to do with cheapness; he just believes the films should speak for themselves. As for the mono, didn't even realize that, but it would be consistent with his tastes (e.g. no post-'40s music).
