She is always smiling or laughing etc.

I don't know why!

I mean I read her the newspapers everyday with the news about the war on terror and Israel's incursions into the Gaza strip, and AlQaeda, and the N. Korea test launches of their long distance missiles etc., but she just laughs and/or smiles! disbelief

I think there is something wrong with her!!

ya know, being that you will never accomplish anything meaninful in life the one thing you can take pride in is having a beautiful daughter. but then, i guess all *that* credit goes to your wife. confused

I know what you mean, I should teach her more about Russia etc.!

And her "toys" are really not helping.

I use the word "toys" loosely since they are just these colorful stuffed creatures of indeterminate origin. (If she thinks that's what nature is going to be like, with smiling elephants and shit, she's in for a shock!)

She just kind of grabs them and shakes them around and seems more interested in the tags than in the toys themselves (even though some of them squeak).

So I thought I'd be smart and got her these soft blocks made of cloth, some of which squeak (generally speaking my life has a lot more squeaking in it these days), but I took all the tags off. nod

But she just kind of grabbed them and shook them.

I'm like, "build something!"

Babies are hilarious.
My son did the same thing. He would just roll and roll and roll once he learned how to get his arm out. But he could only go in one direction. It was funny. He would have made a great human lint brush.

9s, is it possible she is rolling on her buttons and they hurt her belly button? It takes a minute for that to heal and not be as sensitive. Babies are so precious. How old is she?

And everytime, she rolls over she cries...

So I've been teaching Lucy her colors using the color-coded terror warning system...

I think she likes it!

I try to make it fun...I start out all quiet like and say "now this is green....yes...green and I sort of smile and tickle her a little.

Then I get to blue and kind of open my eyes real wide and say "Blue!" like "Boo" only I them immediately smile afterwards and hug her.

Then with yellow I gert a little more frenetic and hyper while I wave a yellow flag around with wild gesticulations. She just stares at me in what seems to be fright but I think she gets yellow.

Then with orange I shriek the word Orange! Orange! while pointing to the window like someobody's about to burst in and get her. Lucy's not crazy about orange.

Everytime I teach her red I get interrupted by Child Services knocking at my door. I hate distractions. How will she learn red at this rate?

I think Lucy is going to be an artist of some kind!
