touched mushy

I would cry if I met Reznor right now. My dream is to sit down and make music with him. It won't happen. sigh

In terms of my brush with fame...I've had breakfast with Saed from Lost, Played snooker with Steve Davis at my house, had a meal with Jim Davidson, Had Kenny Jones (drummer for the who/the small faces) round for drinks, chatted with Shane Warne, met Mike Atherton, waved to Kirsten Dunst in Paris and flirted with Emma Watson.

Wow...now I sound arrogant.
I'm still not happy, I'd trade it all for Trent.

Let me tell you young one, Trent was polite, and boring as hell.
I mean, boring. I've talked to people in the P&R thread more exciting than him.

But when he got on stage, we were all begging him to murder us. It was almost trascendent.

I'm well aware that he is boring, but I figure if I talk music with him and get creative he'll be cool.

I would have killed to have been at that tour. My favourite era...sigh I get angry and upset lol

It was a very magical time for me. I was only 22-23 years old at the time, and completely enamored of Trent. I had his boots, his 10,000 homo DJs outakes, and all his legit stuff. I listenned to his songs religously at that time.

But Germany was all about Front242 and Ministry. Nobody had heard of Nine Inch Nails back then other than Americans. So Trent enjoyed relative anonymity when he sat at the same bar as I did watching his openning act "Die Krupps" perform.

It was really a magical night, and a magical time in my life.

like with all things, I outgrew NIN for the most part, and have expanded my musical palette. But I appreciate the memories.

You know it was her son who posed on the couch in the famous Mapplethorpe photograph of a naked 8 year old boy.

Susan and Robert claimed that the image was merely a slice of life, spur of the momment picture, and not meant to be anything more than an interesting aesthetic experiment--no sexual content intended. I believe them both to be telling the truth, but I wonder if she had any inkling of an idea how that would stir up the art world.

I just looked up that photographer. eek I wasn't expecting that!

Mapplethorpe insisted that you dispell preconcieved notions of what you were looking at and try to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the image only. For this reason he would place a picture of an orchid beside one of a man being fisted in his ..you-know... and challenge you to try and view each for it's beauty. For example, when veiwing a flower, seldom does it inspire strong emotions in us. Rather, we view pictures of Flowers strictly for their beauty. This was Mapplethorpe's aim.

Yes, but don't think of them as penises. Look at them as if they were orchids or dafodils.

Except the black ones of course--they're more like giant prehistoric water lillies. eek
