No, I love nightmares. I spent 3 weeks trying to have nightmares to wake up with that pounding heart, adrenaline rush. Covered in sweat, too scared to even move one inch yet knowing you're totally safe. Felt fantastic.

Last week, I had a dream that I pulled one of my eyeballs out.
In the dream, it was itchy and I was rubbing it and it bothered me so much that I pulled it out. It didn't hurt, but my main concern seemed to be that I was worried I didn't have my fake eyeball in and would scare everyone I saw.

the weirdest dreams for me turn out to be the ones that happen later... I'm trying to grow less uptight about it, when it happens. But it always jolts me.

I've had dreams where I just feel an overwhelming sense of dread too, I hate those. I'm a novice lucid dreamer compared to you! ... [Edited 7/2/06 16:03pm] Well, that's how I first learned to do it. One of those exact dreams. I was hovering in a room and flying like wasp does, always swoopping down and then coming back up and hitting the ceiling and I hated it and just felt overwhelmimgnly awful and something clicked that I was dreaming cause I couldn't really be hovering and bumping into a ceiling in real life. I did all the steps above and I came down fro the ceiling and eventually I was walking down a hallway and walked into a room full of people at some sort of meeting. My dad was in there, so I sat down next to him and we started chatting. Then I woke up. Ever since then I've been able to lucid dream and get myself out of nightmares. It really is more about calming myself down than waking myself up. However, if I do not realize I'm dreaming (and that happens too) then I get really really scared from my nightmares. Once I DO wake up I generally have to turn on the lights and get a drink of water and stay awake for a while cause I know if I fall right back asleep I'll slip right back into the same dream. That is cool Carrie, I should concentrate on calming down instead of just wanting to escape from the dream. It is easy to slip back into a dream unless you wake up properly. That in between state when youre not quite awake but hovering between reality and a dream can feel calming. I'm a light sleeper and wake up easily if there is any noise.

what odd dreams have you had lately? Um...I was in this CD store and it was red all over the place. Someone was with me and they told me that I could choose any two CDs I wanted because they were on sale for 2 for 17.99. Then I went to this movie theater with them and they said we'd come back later since I was having a problem deciding. The movie theater was blue and purple everywhere, and it was separated by levels for some reason; the higher the level the more expensive the tickets, and I was on the very bottom level. I had to use the restroom and since my level's restrooms were full I thought I'd just go a level up. But then the usher got irritated with me and said I couldn't go up to the next level because I hadn't paid for better tickets. I started to argue with him and tell him I just had to use the restroom and to let me through now. Finally I gave up and went back to my seat, but he followed me so I left the movie finally. Then (apparently I was visiting somewhere) I went back to my car and looked in my duffel bag and found four pair of pants I'd never realized I'd had. Through this whole dream, I was eating a Kit Kat bar (well, different ones ), and just before I woke up it was melting so fast I couldn't eat it fast enough. This was like a month ago and I remember it very vividly...this is typical of all my dreams; it's like a ton rolled into one and they make no sense. HE'S COMING AGAIN

Okay, I had this dream once that I had the newspaper laying on the floor, and I was bent over reading it. There were drops of blood falling on the paper, so I went to a mirror. When I looked into the mirror, my face was melting! The flesh was runny and there was blood running down my face. It was the scariest dream I've ever had, and thank God I was able to wake myself up to get out of it. It scared the out of me, seriously. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

how awful!!! I dreamed that I found out I could fly, so I went up above the trees and then I went up so high I couldn't see where I had launched off from and I panicked and landed in the desert in one of those airforce plane graveyards. It was getting dark so I climbed up into a littl jet's cockpit and just about jumped out of my skin because the pilot was sitting in the plane snoozing. This made me wake up with a jerk.
