I can get myself out of nightmares too. Sometimes I can control the whole scenario, what I'm dreaming about, what's happening around me, etc. and sometimes I can only control my own actions in the dream. I adore sleeping. I thoroughly enjoy my dream life. I could spend days inside my head. how do you get yourself out of nightmares? When Im in a nightmare and I know its a dream I try to forcibly wake myself up. I picture myself asleep and waking up,it sounds strange I know lol. I'm similar. What I generally do is try to wake myself up first by thrashing about, really just swining my arms and legs and stuff, and then I try yelling as loud as I can, then I try running as fast as I can. By then I've concentrated so hard on several activities that the rest of the dream usually goes away. Then I just continue on with the dream and the nightmare portion is gone. I usually wake up shortly after I've calmed myself down. |

I think this proves that I should stay away from Spooky. I would pay to have dreams like that. It really was rather scary.... Well, if everything in your dreams is really a part of yourself... I'd say that the dream meant that I was allowing myself to roll around in my darker side a little to much lately for my own good.... andI think Byron was asymbol of my own logic and common sense. When you think of it that way it becomes something really funny! at least to me. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

There's nothing really scary or even out of the ordinary going on necessarily, I just get an overwhelming feeling of anxiety or just plain yuckiness. I don't know what to call them. But that's my most common form of 'nightmare' I have. |

I had one dream where Lollypop rocked up, even though I've never met her - I chastised myself later for confusing the virtual with reality. I've come to love and embrace the darker side of myself because that side loves NIN so much and I'd rather not lose it.

Sometimes I'll have dreams with celebrities. Usually I just talk to them and ask them questions. Smoked some ciggies with Madonna. One time, a friend went out with Eliza Dushku when he knew I wanted her. [Edited 7/2/06 15:41pm]

Allowing yourself a dark side and wallowing in it are two different things though my friend.... And yeah Byron's a lot more to me then an "org" person... he's my bestfriend, and brother in many ways. That's cool then, and believe me I know the difference between appearance and what lies within. I'm referring to what lies within. I've also found I'm a more logical person when I am that..which I am now. I don't know - I just feel like a better person when I'm in this mindset, even if I'm more depressed. Girls are more interested too because there's lots more to me, and I'm more willing to talk about the truely horrible shit I've gone through for the past year and a bit (well, until last febuary). In essence, evil pays.

How to express this...hum - well, I got really depressed for a LONG time; I mean - I used to hit my reflection in the mirror (which was actually mildly embarasing because I made my knuckles bleed once ) - but then I got out of it and I looked back to find anything good that came out of it and I gleaned all that off. Fortunately a lot of good came out of the experience, and i feel like I'm a more balanced person now, with a slight inclination to the darker me than to the prince-loving innocent that was me of old.

One of those exact dreams. I was hovering in a room and flying like wasp does, always swoopping down and then coming back up and hitting the ceiling and I hated it and just felt overwhelmimgnly awful and something clicked that I was dreaming cause I couldn't really be hovering and bumping into a ceiling in real life. I did all the steps above and I came down fro the ceiling and eventually I was walking down a hallway and walked into a room full of people at some sort of meeting. My dad was in there, so I sat down next to him and we started chatting. Then I woke up. Ever since then I've been able to lucid dream and get myself out of nightmares. It really is more about calming myself down than waking myself up. However, if I do not realize I'm dreaming (and that happens too) then I get really really scared from my nightmares. Once I DO wake up I generally have to turn on the lights and get a drink of water and stay awake for a while cause I know if I fall right back asleep I'll slip right back into the same dream. |
