Hope this doesn't hijack the thread, but it piqued my interest:
http://www.rottentomatoes...yid=340371 Johnny Depp, Futuristic Vampire?? Posted by Scott Weinberg on Monday, Jul. 03, 2006, 03:29 AM Scott Weinberg writes: "Now here's a juicy piece of casting gossip that just might be true: Johnny Depp as a (semi-)vampire, playing opposite Will Smith, in Francis Lawrence's "I Am Legend." This, of course, is the long-awaited adaptation of Richard Matheson's frankly awesome story. According to Blackfilm.com, "along with Smith, JOHNNY DEPP has been added to the cast. No telling which role Depp will play, but given his penchant for playing extraordinary weird-like characters, expect a juicy plum part, like the neighbor, now one of the living dead." Depp adds color to any flick, so the idea of him going all undead-like, well, that sounds cool. Matheson's tale has been brought to the screen twice before: 1964's "The Last Man on Earth" and 1971's "The Omega Man.""

Independence Day might have been a good movie.... when I was 7 years old or something. It was on tv this previous weekend and it's so goddamn cheesy and horrible.

Are we talking about the best movie he was in, or his best performance?
I think Will Smith's performance in Six Degrees is overrated. Good play / film. But his performance is certainly no better than countless actors I've seen in the role since. I think Will Smith is much better in properly comedic roles. Bad Boys, Men in Black, Independence Day to some extent. But Marge! What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder.

I thought that was the official "nickname" for the movie when it was out and hot. I remember that like it was yesterday...sort of. ID4 is Indepence Day. It ties in the 4 as in the 4th of July. Ohhh, the irony since I'm posting on the 4th. Happy 4th ya'll [Edited 7/4/06 8:50am]
