Online Dating Anyone here who's single do this at all?
Know any good sites? I'm considering signing up with eharmony but it is very expensive and most of the girls seem to be only from the US...

I did befriend a girl on the internet who happened to live near me...so we met up. It was great fun, we had a really similar sense of humour, but she's not my type.

Why spend money on expensive dating sites, when you have the Org? if sexy was a colour it would be red

I've known people who have used such websites. None that I know of have found much more then dates, but they do get dates and such through the web single sites. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I have never done it, but I know people who have....for some it has worked, others it was a nightmare.
Persoanlly, I believe attraction needs to be natural, and online dating is all a bit contrived and unnatural. Do things you love to do, go places that interest you, get involved in a charitable organization that has your same values and you will put yourself in situations where you will most certainly meet someone with your interests and lifestyle. Word to the wise.... "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

yeah... i'm signed up for a few sites, but most people seem too nervous or something about actually meeting up... it's weird... i guess it's back to the real world for me.. . [Edited 7/1/06 6:51am]

Once Dan and I started online dating, all we do is fight.

i signed up with eharmony and they told me that there is no one in the entire world and universe who is a potential match for me. now i hate them.
and then on my birthday they had the nerve to send me a birthday greeting that reminded me that there were still no matches in the entire world and universe for me.

I know several people who have used online dating services and some situations turned out ok, some didn't.
Overall, they said that most of the people that went on the sites they signed onto were on there desperately looking for someone to just have sex with.

I tried it once met a great girl. But it is no different than going to a club really, you don't know what they will turn out like. However with online dating you get to know them before you ever meet, so you can avoid the crazy ones 'A pillow covered in all our tears'

I've had some dirty talk on myspace, but that's it. I called off a date with another girl when she gave me a weird vibe.

Penicillin should clear that right up, dear boy. In the future, please employ some type of protection when exchanging vibes with people you don't know well!

my sister in-law has tried a few online dating services and met a few guys through them, had dates and all has gone quite well, though she hasn't met the right guy yet. Some seem a little expensive, to me, but she thinks it's a good way to meet men.

the problem i keep finding with online dating is that girls usually fall into three categories... and the ones that don't hardly ever write back:
* very unnattractive * attractive, but totally vapid * plain boring . [Edited 7/1/06 20:12pm]

I just signed up for eHarmony, I was more curious than anything. I have had one date, that was very positive for my first luncheon.
The best part for me... I can gain a sense of who they are, enough to either say yay, or nay... you don't even have to reach open communication if you don't want to. The other party cannot even reach you until you have agreed to take that first step, and there are many steps... it could take at least a week to reach open communication. By that time, you either have weeded out the majority... if not all. Out of 60 or more "supposedly matches" in not even month, I have only gone to open communication two times and not even started or attempted anymore. Like I said, the first experience was very nice... I would not say it was a match made in heaven or anything... The best part... "No intimate focus", just meet and greet. I like that. I like getting into the mind a bit.... and nothing more. (at least not right now, in this dating stage of my life) Interesting it is though, short-term. [Edited 7/1/06 21:37pm]
