Are there any good MAP-SITE/SOFTWARE for German, France, and the Netherlands?

?

I have Microsoft Mappoint--but it only details American Routes.
I'm looking for something that will help me get around Western Europe in a vehicle.

Thanks.

But... drunken backpackers never needed a map! They just follow the smell of pot to find other backpackers and drift into some new country along the way.

Ottensen

The German version of "TRILE A", is called ADAC.

for personalized map routes try their website:

www.adac.de

otherwise there is another site good for mapping out smaller areas to figure out streets here and such:

www.stadplandienst.de

---but lastly, out of curiousity: why on EARTH would one choose to drive in Europe??? First, because of the language barriers, traffic rules, then there's all this weirdness with how all the streets are set up, and overcrowded parking. Add that to the fact that the car rental prices are exorbitant and the gas is 2-3 times what you's pay in the US, and all I can think is, why?lol

The train system here is tremedously cheaper and much more sophisticated than the ones in the States. Imagine the convenience and organization of the train system in New York City, but on a continental level, spanning most of Europe. Sure you might not want to reconsider the driving thing? lol

Interesting. References here (UK) are to Western and Eastern Europe, not Northern and Southern.

Google maps : http://maps.google.co.uk/

It's not finished yet - street names etc for smaller and more remote areas aren't there yet, but all the major towns and cities are. It even has the direction arrows for one way systems.
