Just thought I'd put my situation out there to see if anyone has had this issue...

I am about to embark on vacation Aug 1. Going out of the country. I had not updated my passport which was expired when I went on a trip to Chicago. In Chicago, I lost my wallet with all forms of identification...or most. Wallet is GONE and cannot be retrieved.

I am back and have already applied for a state ID. But that takes up to 6 weeks. I leave Aug 1. My passport will have to be expidited..no doubt as I try and piece all of my crap together. I was told that my Birth Certificate needed to be Accompanied by a State or current Photo ID, which I don't have yet.

I was then told to scrape up any form of ID that has my Birth name on it, as Socail Securuity Card and Birth Certificate are not enough. My Exp Passport is so expired that it can only be used as a 2nd form of ID. Now my name is in 2 different names (LONG STORY) and I have only a few pieces as back up including

Soc Sec Card
Old Passport (can be used)
Old W-2
Lease
Work Security Card
Comcast Bill

Has anyone ever had issues regarding passport and can anyone offer advise as to what it was all like. I am thinking that I may wait for the emergency 14 day window to apply as then I would get it in like 2 days after that appointment. And at least won't have to wait a week to get a crazy letter telling me NO...I'll know NO right away.
