CarrieMpls said: INSATIABLE said: I've met Charles Schulz several times, and he gave my best friend Patricia a bloody nose with his elbow. It didn't show up until we got in the car, though. Poor old guy.
WOW!! It would have been really, really neat to meet him. He was truly one of the gentlest old men I've ever met. And generous! I live a block from his museum (which is a block from his Snoopy ice arena) here in Santa Rosa. We skated all the time in Girl Scouts as youngsters (for free, by the way) and he donated enough money to our troop so we (thirty of us) could go on a two-week camping trip. It was his idea! So Trisha and I ran to greet him one time, and we both jumped to hug him and he was forced to throw his arm up to balance himself and he slammed her good. It was hilarious! I have a picture of us in the back seat of her mom's station wagon, her crying and me laughing. [Edited 6/29/06 14:11pm] Oh shit, my hat done fell off | |
