How To Look Good Naked Did anyone in the UK watch this programme last night?
Yet another reality show/makeover rehash but I thought it was quite good, actually. I can't believe the difference in the woman they selected! They did a good job. She seemed much more confident by the end of the programme. Result! And I loved that 'bra/knickers' expert who kept proddding the poor woman in the changing rooms.

so what was the premise of the show? did they actually have to be naked on tv?

Well, it was a bit of a rehash of several other makeover shows, the premise being that the person being made over doesn't like the look of themselves naked.
Here's the blurb from the Channel 4 website: HOW TO LOOK GOOD NAKED The new fashion series that shows women of all shapes and sizes how to look great with their clothes on and off! And believe it or not - there's no cosmetic surgery and no make-overs. It’s the first show to be 100% against cosmetic surgery. Tune in to find out all you need to look and feel slimmer – whatever size or shape you are – without going under the knife. The show will tell you how to give your body a non-surgical lift, using all the tricks of the fashion trade and loads of insider beauty tips. If, as a recent survey suggested, 98% of British women hate their bodies, How to Look Good Naked is their saving grace… Each programme follows one woman who is dissatisfied with her body shape. Expert stylist Gok Wan tries to convince her that she looks great naked, and shows her how to make the most of what she's got. Last night, they had this woman who was terribly self-conscious and her husband hadn't seen her naked in years. So they took her shopping (the 'expert' picked out some hideous outfits ), fiddled with her underwear (that expert - some old harridan - was hilarious, poking and prodding away), gave her a general makeover and, basically, made her feel better about herself. Before the makeover, they displayed a huge image of her naked - except for bra and knickers, and minus her head - up in some part of London and asked passers by what they thought of it. Every single one of them was complimentary. Then, after the makeover, they showed another picture of her - this time naked but lying on her front, legs in the air - and, again, she got great feedback. It wasn't rocket science but the woman was ten times' more confident by the end of the programme.

interesting, it is all about confidence though, isn't it if you act gorgeous, other people perceive you as such.

Confidence is the key, I guess. Considering it was all about 'How To Look Good Naked', most of it was about changing their hairstyle, trying different types of make-up, adjusting your knickers. Not a lot to do with actually being naked. That was just the gimmick they used. But the essential point was that it's all about self-image and how to overcome that.

Feel good naked is to look good naked.
I am SO tired of all the skinny b*tch syndrome going around. I love curvy women! I love men with a bit of a tummy and receding hairlines!

Since you didn't answer I agree with what you said, though. My housemate, Kath, is very body confident. That doesn't mean she goes flashing her breasts in my face every five minutes but she's very relaxed about her body. And you can tell that in her personality. No hang-ups, nothing. Best way to be. I wish I felt that way.

I have a schizophrenic body image. I feel good in my own skin until I see people that are really fit. I can walk around naked at home and feel sexy then I go outside (not naked) and feel awful.

Not really. I don't care how confident an ugly girl acts. Still ugly.

M I wish you didn't feel that way Miguel but, of course, everyone has their own hang ups. All I know is that there are certainly enough Orgers who love you exactly the way you are. Anyone who doesn't is a fool. They can kiss your ass - even though you'd like that. But I do understand where you come from.
