Who stuck it to whom? Star's out of a job.

I really don't care. I've not watched a single episode of the show. I just know that Star's blabbing to the media, Barbara's yammerin' away...and everyone's eating it up. It all woulda made a better episode of The Richard Bey Show.

Oh, I bet Rosie would be brave enough to call herself the f-word and is probably proud of it, which makes her cool. I think Star Jones is the type of celebrity who makes people uneasy.
She came to The View an accomplished attorney who already had TV experience. She'd proven herself. "The View" didn't define or create her -- it just provided a platform for her to do what she always has done: excel. But Star's substance conflicted with the way a lot of American TV viewers think someone who looked like she used to should be. On TV, overweight black women don't usually have law degrees, upward mobility, wealthy families and strong opinions. They certainly don't speak with Star's authority or -- as much as I hate to say it -- articulation and clarity. So, here's someone as smart as -- or smarter than -- her co-hosts. Yes, she went overboard with a wedding that most people suspect is as fake as Tom Cruise's arrangement with Katie Holmes. Granted, she can be extremely overbearing. I think the biggest problem with Star is that she surpassed America's expectations of her -- in a way that wasn't necessarily familiar or, honestly, welcome. They were expecting a fat, black woman who would roll her eyes and talk about her babydaddy... Right down to the very end, Star has stayed true to herself and has gotten what she wants. I salute her "surprise" announcement. She will land on her feet and continue to do her thing.

Like I said, Jones can go overboard (and certainly did with her wedding). But, why is Walters handling it so horribly? I think it goes back to what I posted. In a sense, Jones didn't "know her place."

Like Kathy Lee, Star thinks she's all that and she's not. Wish I could make them all disappear. I laugh my ass off every time I see a pic of Star & Al holding hands. Maybe Star's good with a strap-on, who knows?

they should replace the two of them with sandra bernhard. she's a comedienne, she's gay AND she's jewish. she's the whole cast of the view in one. Joy's actually Italian. well, her schtick is jewish, anyway.

Say it! Folks who watch "The View" have too much free time on their hands. It's nothing but a bunch of cackling hens talking loud and saying nothing. Star Jones = low self-esteem heffa. Why would she marry a gay man? How pathetic is that? [Edited 6/28/06 18:34pm]

What do you mean she is out of a job? Don't you understand how this pop culture, cult of personality thing works yet? We live in a society where Ted Nugent can become a rock star again, where Tommy Lee can start a new band and get a tv show, where Paris Hilton and Brooke Hogan can make albums, while bands like Interpol and the Church are in the shadows of obscurity. Of course she will get another job. She will probably get a better one, make a bunch more money and become a big star. This is how sick this society has become. We are a society of personality robots. These people always win...don't you understand. Am I sounding paranoid enough for you? lol.
Star will be a big star and we will cringe. All you others say Hell Yea!!

She is? I don't think any of them are. She made an unscheduled announcement that she was leaving, then went right to the media afterwards to say she was fired for no good reason. She's obnoxious, they're obnoxious, and if the show's always been this dumb I wish I woulda watched it. I do, however, relish the thought of Rosie getting into debates with Elizabeth Hasselbeck(sp?).
