Yeah, for some binders are a better choice, and I can definitely see where it works because I use them when I'm traveling (yes, I carry a LOT of CDs with me when I travel). I just like to browse my CDs when they're in the cases...it's a weird obsession of mine. lol

I also like CD-Rs that have lots of room for writing. Some try to limit your writing area. no no no!

I do that too. I like having my entire collection on display. The one drawback about binders is that the CDs tend to scratch when you take them in and out of the sleeves. My friend is a DJ and uses binders and all his discs are way scratched.

this is very true...but since i now only really use my CDs for ripping on to my mp3 player and for the occasional loaner or compilation CD, i don't take the discs out of my binders very often these days, so it works for me.

also, i keep CDs with fancy packaging (deluxe reissues, box sets, etc.) in their original packaging, just cuz i like looking at them.

The binders are good, they save a lot of space. It was hard to get rid of them, but a big relief.

The problem is that i put them in alpha order. So I have to keep free spaces in between letters so when I get "B" artist I don't have to bump C-Z down the line, which would take forever.

i just let a bunch of new purchases pile up, then some boring sunday i watch a movie and organize all my new CDs into the binders. if you put some spaces in here and there, it's not such a horrible task, as you seem to have discovered.

dude!!!

cd rolodex. cool

there's a title sheet on the outside of the rolodex so you're able to keep things very organized. there's even a disc retrival button that pulls up the number of the disc you want. thumbs up!

though it only holds a hundred disc, its a start. lol

I keep everything in iTunes, burn mix CD's or whole albums and keep only about 10 in my car at a time.

When I'm done with them, I give them to my friends so they can enjoy.

This cycle usually goes on about every 30 days or so.

For the clean stuff and/or my own music, when I'm done with it, I throw it out the window at the school bus stop by my studio. They are always gone the next day so I know someone is picking them up. My little way of bootlegging my own stuff!
