i live in a small city so you still get a bit of the night sky shining through
but... i am always amazed by the beauty of the sky when i go home to the farm it is one of the things i miss the most - it is just so brilliant out there! and if you are lucky mother nature will bless you with the light show known as the northern lights

Just one of the many things I miss about home It’s really sad because the young kids growing up in the city 2day r missing so much. I remember rainbows after the rain. Your lucky 2 see a butterfly where I live.

My friend, Kath, travelled through the Australian outback and she's told me many times how awestruck she was gazing at the stars. No light pollution whatsoever. She reckoned you could even see the Milky Way.
I bet it's awesome... | |

one night last summer i was driving home and was just astounded...
i have seen northern lights many times... one spectatular time they were even purple and red... just beautiful! but this night - firstly you don't see lights in the summer as often as you would in the winter and they are usually brief shimmery streaks that dance in the sky for a second and then they are gone... followed by more streaks that dance and then disappear but the entire sky overhead was like god had taken a giant green shimmery silk scarf and was gently moving it up and down i had to go out in the backyard and just marvel at the sight. it would weave and wave and shimmer and get fainter and more intense... the whole sky it was amazing
