How do u organize your cd'rs? Question: I have thousands of cd's. It's way beyond my control and I can't seem 2 put my hands on anything. My question is, for those of u that have a lot of cd'rs without cases, what method do u use to file them? I need 2 get organized and I'm looking for good ideas that work.
Thanks in advance. | |

Dude, store everything on a hard drive (either external or internal)

I just put 'em all in the cd changer. it was full the other day when i went to put something in so i whipped out a shitty disc and threw it away to make room 4 the new one.

They do have devices that store CDs, and you can play what ever one you want.
However, jerseykrs has it right too. Digital files are always easy to store. I would sudgest however you get jeweled cases for all them loose CD. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I do but I do NOT want 2 fall victim to a hard drive crash. I have a few multi-GB drives but I guess I'm still "old" school because I still burn everything to disk. (Mp3 disk)

Yeah, I keep it all on the HD and burn discs as I want to hear them. If they get scratched, toss it and burn another. I'm actually in the process of moving it all to my MP3 player, then I'll get a car radio with an aux. input and i'm in serious business.

Hey not trying to jack your thread, but what does it mean when a warning keeps popping up that theres low disc space in the c drive.....or something like that. Anyways, I click on it and everythings empty.

You don't want to ask me...mine are a disaster, and I keep buying more and more (my own little addiction).

This computer is like a month old.....whats it full of? whatever you have been saving. If it's new, it's probably just the partition. Most likely the HDD is partitioned with a small chunk of it for windows, and the other larger chunk for storing whatever. That's my best guess that's all.

What would u do if your harddrive crashed? I accidently erased about 500 of my original songs like that once. I'll NEVER go out like that again.

I have backed them up onto DVD's just in case, but to be honest, I think the chances of my HDD dying are slim. Yes, I know it happens, I'm just saying, I think the chance is too slim for me to care about keeping thousands of discs.

Gray, your smart, u tell me. In my case, my songs were gone for good. I don't know what the hell I did but I could NOT recover the data. That was a SAD day.....the ONLY time my MAC ever let me down.

Educate me, for the life of me, I can't figure out out to burn a MP3 data disk to DVD. Everything looks good until I try 2 play the disk....and it will NOT read the disk. I can burn movies all day long but not data 2 DVD. I don't get it.

I really wouldn't know because I keep all my jewel cases (I have a personal obsession with the way they look), but CD binders sound a good way to go to me. That'd be my choice if I didn't prefer jewel cases. HE'S COMING AGAIN

i like 'em cuz i can just flip through the pages for what i want, like going through a catalog or something. plus binders are very portable and you can store them on a bookshelf if you like. good stuff.
