I ran into a friend Sat 6/10 and we smoked half a joint about 10am. She left me with the other half and I smoked it about 5pm. It's been a while since I smoked- we gave it up years ago. I had some downs with Drew a few weeks before. One of his new medications was slowly posioning him (lactic acidosis which can be fatal). We got all that worked out and Drew stopped taking the medication and is fine. It was about a week after all that when my friend called because she heard Drew had been sick (she's actually one of Drew's friends of 20+ years). I was still feeling all stressed and agreed to meet up and get stoned. I was doing a faux finish that weekend and pot has always enhanced my creativity. The last time I smoked was during Drew's heart attack (the week around 2/27) and I stayed fucked up that entire week- pot, pills, booze, cigs- so needless to say I got really high.

So anyway I returned to my 9-5 Monday 6/12, all was going well and a nurse walks up and announces that she here to drug test all of us! 44 hours after smoking a joint I'm being drug tested! OH SHIT!!

Someone or something has been watching out for us this year- trust me, me loosing my job would not have been a good thing. We don't have a house or any car payments but Drew's monthly meds is a house/car payment in itself. Plus this fall I'll be able to add him to my health insurance, so he'll be double covered. I mainly want him on my health insurance because his prescription coverage ends at a $1000 a year and mine is unlimited and he only gets 2 doctors visits a year and I can go everyday, anyone I choose for a $20 copay.

Well my coworker lost her job Monday 6/19, she tested positive for marijuana. She had worked there for 5 years and was making good money but is a complete pot head. There wasn't a chance in hell, we knew she was done. I heard that pot stayed in your system for months so I thought I was fucked too.

Well, medicial review called me Thursday 6/22 and I tested positive for hydrocodone (Vicodin), butalbital (Fioricet), and benzodiazepine (Valium) which I have prescriptions for but DID NOT test positive for marijuana!!! I had my doctor fax over my scripts and I'm golden.

Lession learned- is pot more important than my job or is my job more important than pot? Easy- my job is most important. I'm never smoking another joint again- the guilt, my nerves- those 10 days were hell and never again!

(PS- I think that pot should be treated like alcohol and cigarettes.)

....I'm in the military and since I've gotten to my new unit in AZ, I've got more than enuff practice dealing with my troops coming up hot on Pee-Pee tests...only the cocaine and meth positives are beating the pot-hots 2 to 1....its painful to watch them squirm when they have to face the music and lose rank....money....time, in the form of restriction to base and extra after duty work...and in extreme cases (repeat offenders) jail time is the result, followed by an unceremonious boot out of the Army....

Wow, generally speaking, THC stays in the fatty tissues for about 30 days. I know that I've read that non-regular users are able to get it out faster, but damn!

WOW! That was close.

Pot doesn't show up in the system until 48 hours after consumption, where it then stays for 3 months. You were fucking lucky!

It's crazy that you can get away with taking pills (which have much more devastating consequences than marijuana) because our government has declared man made meds legal, while a natural God created plant is labled illegal and oh-so dangerous. This world sucks. But I'm still glad that you're not fired!
