I have a friend who's just started publishing some of her photographs on the web. I think she takes some fantastic photos.

on photos like this, she could use photoshop to increase contrast and create highlights or focus. Also selectively cropping photos helps to tweak compositions.

Your friend has a really good eye for composition, as well as "documentary"-type photography...as ufoclub said, she should work on her contrast (some of the photos would look stunning with the contrast and sharpness a bit more defined), and somewhat better cropping on certain photos would only strengthen the already strong compositions going on. Nice work...
