I can not believe you put Cube in the catagory of Loser ass hip hop clown I love Cube but if he doesn't get that Oprah doesn't need to bow down and kiss the rap community's testicles, he is clueless. The bitch and ho rap stereotype is just beyond tired by now. The community needs to be represented with some dignity and not just by a bunch of horny thugs. [Edited 6/22/06 17:29pm] When it comes to philanthropy and briging something to the community Oprah whips all their asses. She doesn't owe these guys shit. If anything they need to appologize for the way they have portrayed the community. You can remove the FunkyOrgangrinder but ya still got SUPAsexy! The org's original hottie

That's all this is about. When no one is listening to you go on about yourself or cares, get back into the limelight by talking about someone else that is way more famous. Kinda like what Jersey is doing in that new Imago thread.

That was interesting and i definitely understand Oprah's viewpoint. I always feel so torn about this issue
What I think makes it such a touchy topic is that black women have been sexually degraded for centuries and what a lot of these rappers are doing is just carrying on the tradition of reducing the black women to a sexual object who is not meant to be taken seriously. For white women, being seen as sexual was considered liberation, but black women have been the degraded sex object for quite some time and i don't think that hip hop/rap artists using the words bitch and ho so liberally is helping with that any. that being said, i think that ludacris should feel free to express himself anyway he sees fit and to be respected for it. I don't feel, however, that Oprah should be obligated to put him, or any other artist, on her show is she doesn't want to. It's her damn show, she can do what she wants with it.
