alright australians, i need help

so, i am a total absolutely fabulous addict, and the ONLY country you can get a boxed set with ALL of the ab fab episodes appears to be australia.

i am trying to find reviews of the set to see what all the extras are, etc, and am having trouble finding an australian dvd review site...

help?

oh, never mind, just found one.

also found that australia is the only country you can get the great but shortlived "let them eat cake" series that french and saunders were in

why does australia have better dvds than the uk and the us?!?!?

well, quite by accident, i discovered my dvdrom on my cpu is region free.

i heard about "jerry springer: the opera", an awesome comic opera in the UK, and that there was a dvd released of it in the UK. i managed to find the cd, and got me and my friends hooked on it (it is friggin awesome). ryan and chris (the rachel and joey in our friends set up of next door apartments) ordered it from e-bay, intending to have it re-regioned (illegal but possible in ny) so that we could watch the region 2 dvd. they put it in their dvdrom, though, and it worked fine, so i put it in mine, and it also played.

so now i want the ab fab box set and 'let them eat cake', both of which are only available in region 4. i don't understand why australia has better dvd releases than the country those shows were made in and for and america

cborgman, we get a lot of good stuff from the UK because we're still quite closely tied to them as nation in our culture, etc... and then there's that whole thing of doing something special for certain markets to make more money.

btw, i have that boxed set of Ab Fab... or at least, my mum does. it's great. there's your review!!

not sure what you mean by "white box"... but it's a sparkly box and it has all the episodes and special features.

whitebox was the most recent (although not great) and reportedly last episode.
