Definitely looking at high school level, probably english, but I'm thinkin' bout math too. I'm good at math and it might be more lucrative, particularly me being a female math teacher. But I'm not all that interested in it. English I adore, but I feel like everyone I know that teaches, teaches english. A friend of mine is an english teacher at an alternative high school in Mpls and she's offered to let me sit in on a few of her classes to get a feel for things. So we'll see. |

I spent several months volunteering at a montessori school helping a second grader improve her reading skills in the fall and winter (that I can't do anymore due to the requirements of my new job )and I realized just how much I loved working with the kids and I always had the desire to do it, just too many other things got in the way. |

Considering how tough it is to teach the ultra-well-behaved Japanese high school kids, I don't even want to think about the horror of teaching little Bob Georges from Minneapolis... . [Edited 6/21/06 21:17pm]

[Edited 6/21/06 21:17pm] I think I'll be the kinda teacher I loved as a teenager. So in that case, I think I'll do ok. |

Great news!! It must be fun to teach the same students you have built a rapport with in a previous year.
I get to pick my favorites in Year 1 and steel them for projects in the 3rd year, it's great to watch them grow. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!
