That kind of thing has happened to me sooooo many times. I go around angry for DAYS afterwards. Just watching the clip made me want to crawl through the cable and strangle that mofo. lol

The EXACT same thing happened to me when I called to cancel mine. I finally kept asking to speak to a manager. It was utterly ridiculous. I will never, ever, ever consider using aol again. EVER!

i went through this kind of insanity when i canceled AOL years ago. i had to agree to a "trial cancellation" in which they'd start my account back up after a month unless i called to confirm shutting it off, and i only agreed to that to shut them up!

my phone company is my internet provider now. they have no problem shutting my ass off - all i have to do is be late with a bill. lol

What they did with me about 4 yrs or so ago when I tried to cancel my aol was that they kept transfering me to the "wrong" person. Each person said that they couldn't help me or that it wasn't their department. I swear, they did that shit on purpose to make me give up. Then when I finally did get the "right" person, they tried to keep me by cutting the price way down/asking why I wanted to to close my account, etc., but not to the degree this guy got.

I'm glad aol finally got busted for their practices. You know that wasn't a fluke, they were trained and/or rewarded to keep people. Comcast has a department called "customer retention" with people who specialize in that stuff. disbelief

Fucking AOL!!! I had them years ago, and I'll never use them again. They screwed me over bad, and I vowed I would never have anything business dealings with them whatsoever. I'm glad to see that this guy exposed them!!!

something like that happened to me awhile back as well.(i called them for another reason)

they tried to get me to upgrade my services and when i said "NO THANKS" i got asked why...."NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!"

i hung up right then.beware of companies that try to get you to spend more than what you intend.
