I won my court case today! I went to court today on an alledged traffic violation that happened in February.
"It was for failure to stay on the right side of the road." A ridiculous charge. I was in Pasadena (I officially hate that city). I haven't been there is years. They have nothing but one way streets all over the place. I was following directions to a restuarant (sp?), which was on the left side of the street. I saw the place and waiting to make a left turn. There were 3 motorcycle cops sitting on their bikes at the intersection. When the light turned yellow and the last car going forward passed me, I turned my wheel to make a left. I noticed there was no lane to turn in and I turned back to the right and went ahead. I did not make a full left turn and there were no cars behind me to worry about. I didn't cause or almost cause an accident. When the officer pulled me over and explained to him there was no one-way sigh I could see and that I was not from the area. I didn't even make the turn. He said "I feel you should have known and stayed on the right side." He pointed the one-way sign to me which was on the right above the pedestrians on the sidewalk. It was at night and it was dark. I told him I couldn't see it. I'm used to those signs being next to the street sign on the top middle area. I proceeded to tellhim he was abusing his power and called him evil Well when we sat down in front of the judge today, he asked the judge to dismiss the case because on the violation he put the intersection of the incident wrong. He put where he pulled me over as opposed to where it happened, a one block difference. I didn't even catch that I lucked out I still think I would have won or at least had the bail reduced I have to wait 8-12 weeks to get my money back They didn't have a problem cashing it though

Pasadena sucks. My friend got pulled over for honking her horn and violating the "noise ordinance". The guy who she honked at cut in front of her to make a right and then crossed over to make a left, almost hitting her both times. Of course, the cop lets that person go but the horn honker must be dealt with 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

With that alone, I can't believe you were able to beat the charge.

With that alone, I can't believe you were able to beat the charge. Why? He said "I'm evil? How am I being evil? I don't like having to clean up a fatality at 5 in the morning." I said angrily "Do you really think I would have caused a fatality?" When he walked away he said "be careful" I said "Shut up!"

Because cops don't like to be challenged. Good for you!

With that alone, I can't believe you were able to beat the charge. I got a "crossing the wrong side of the street" ticket a few months ago and when the cop started lecturing me I went off on both of them how they should be ahsamed harrassing pedestrians when the great city of LA is short on cops. He tried to argue with me that I was breaking the law and that it was important for them to deal with law breakers and I yelled at them that I was positive that they didn't sign up to "protect and serve" the community of LA only to give out jaywalking tickets. I read them the riot act. But I still had to pay 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Especially when they KNOW you weren't going to do any such thing. A few years ago I dropped my fried off at the bus stop late at night and a cop pulled up next to me and came out waving his gun and yelling and freaking out about how I was blocking traffic and could cause an accident. Other than me and the cop, there was not one car as far as you could look down the street in either direction What the fuck is up with these asshole cops?
