4 Wisdom teeth pulled at once...OW OW OWWW. I'm feeling tha pain now

22 years without a cavity....until now. disbelief I guess all that candy finally caught up with me. I go to the dentist and find out I have one omg, which resulted in getting all four wisdom teeth pulled. Really I only had to get the one with the cavity pulled, but the dentists suggested that I get all four pulled at once, because eventually they were gonna have to be pulled anyway. I said, why not I'm gonna be sedated anyway. It only took about 2 minutes before I was knocked out cold. Not getting any sleep the night before probably had a lot to do with it too. lol I forgot to tell them that I wanted to keep my teeth....I guess I'm kinda weird like that. lol I was far too gone and my mouth was too swollen to even say anything after it was over and had to be helped to the car and chauffeured around. I just took my pain killers so in a few minutes I'll be feeling kinda like SpongeBlunt

nuts nutty flower wacky stoned cloud9 zzz

had the gas... LOVED the gas cloud9
had all four out at once
kept the two that came out intact
the other two broke when the dentist pulled them
didn't fill the pain Rx - thought i would see how i did on ibuprofen
and i was fine... of course my memories of the discomfort are dulled now
i think i was rather sore for a couple days

your teeth will shift around over the next couple of years... no one warned me about that
at times your bite is so messed up you can't really chew at all
but eventually they settle down

i'm glad they are out biggrin

I had three pulled a couple years ago when I was 22. They were so lodged in and were causing such inflammation and pain that the surgeon gave me an IV that knocked me out!

He plugged it in and I was conked in five seconds flat. But those five seconds, let me tell you... Heaven can't compare. It was childlike bliss. If I ever find out what they gave me, I'm going to acquire some with any means necessary.

Did you have the IV or gas?
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Yeah....I'm only eating soft foods for now. I can't eat nuts or hard candy for about six weeks though sad that's crazy. only ibuprofen? omg you must be wonder woman lol ibuprofen doesn't really help me much when I have just a basic tooth ache, so I doubt an over the counter pain reliever would help me.

I was on the IV too....and you are not lyin' about being gone. I felt like I had the best sleep ever. lol The hell with sleeping pills....just give me that IV for when I have insomnia lol That's how one too tooth was too. It was half way under my gums, so they sent me to an oral surgeon rather than a regular dentist. Uh-oh.....I think my pills are about to kick in. I'm feeling less coordinated. I really should be in bed, but I'm stubborn as a mule.

Had all mine done all at once also. Great high.
Don't remember any pain as I put my prescription to good use. nuts

The oral surgeon must have been really good because I didn't have much swelling afterwards at all.

The only dicey part was the irrigation tool (to keep the extraction areas clean) I had to use daily. disbelief

Haha. I actually had the same situation, and I was too 22 at the point. I know perfectly well what you are talking about, they even managed to smash some extra teeth too in the process. confused I was walking through the city with a bleeding mouth when I tried to walk home. My face got really swollen in the next days as well. I looked like a hideous monster - so there's at least something you can look forward to happen to you as well. lol

falloff falloff oh my god....I died laughing at my swollen face at first. It's going down pretty fast now. You didn't have anybody to help you? I probably would've tumbled over and people would've thought I was drunk at 10:00 in the morning. lol There was so much blood in my mouth too.....I felt like Dracula.

oh my god....talk about a dent in your wallet lol It would've been worse without insurance....and my policy is up tomorrow, so I had to have this done. If not, I don't know how it would've been paid for. Now I gotta look for a new insurance plan pout

I had all 4 pulled when I was 32 years old. I was completely out during the procedure. I do not remember the drive home or my husband going throught the drive through of the pharmacy to get my pain pills. He said I talked to him... He dropped me off at home and went to work. I went in and laid down and slept for 6 hours- got up and read the instructions for post surgery - it said not to lay flat- to sleep propped up.. Well, so much for that.. I woke up with a mouth full of bloody gauze. I took 2 pain pills after that- that was it... I did not need anymore. I recovered nicely..

I had three or four taken out at the same time. I was so sick from the pain meds and all the blood I swallowed. Cheeks like a chipmunk for a week. Awful. disbelief

Take care to not do anything which might dislodge the clot(s) and cause dry socket, which can be painful.

Heal up soon!

I had all 4 of mine taken out at the same time. I remember Rachel taking me to the car, and I was pretty wide awake after that. Heck, we even went shopping for a while right after we got back home. razz
