Anyone see Jermain Taylor vs Winky Wright?

What a great fight, but i was totally pissed with the draw at the end. Might have been fair, but I hate draws

Missed it, mate sad No pay-per-view at the moment. Read the reports on it. Winky was not happy with the judges' decision. He eased off the pedal in the 11th and 12th. Silly that coz that's when Taylor's eye started closing up too. It's meant to have cost him. They said he stormed off as soon as the announcement was made. Apparently, he won't take a rematch if it was offered again in Taylor's backyard of Memphis.

What was your take on the bout, bruvz? blackeye

Great fight. Though Winky wasn't as aggressive in the 12th as he had been in the previous rounds, I still scored it for him, as Jermaine Taylor didn't do jack to take the round. Still, big mistake by Winky to ease up on the gas pedal. He should've known better (the Fernando Vargas fight).

It was truly a close fight all around. Taylor has a lot of stylistic improvements to make, but he showed a ton of heart and he's a pretty honest fighter, as he admitted that the bout could've gone either way. Winky is a pro's pro, though his lack of punching power will always result in these type of close fights. That's why he has to go all out for all twelve rounds.

I had Taylor just up, he was the more aggresive fighter. Winky was more accurate mind you. A draw was not a scandalous result. Hope we get a rematch, but Winky is adamant no. Apparantly, Joe Calzaghe is lined up next for Taylor. I'd love to see that fight

eh, I don't know if I'd award it the term "great fight"

It was a draw though, I agree with the decision. Winky does not have enough to power to put Taylor away. Plus Taylor was the champ, close to his hometown. Winky should have fought harder.

I'd say it was a great fight - i'll admit that may be influenced by the fact I thought it would be a total snooze fest. I really enjoyed it though.

I'm not a fan of Wright, though I would admit he is the best defensive boxer out there and up near the top P4P. I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

yeah, it def. was more upbeat than I thought it would be. Winky has incredible boxing skill, and to see him not rely on the defense all fight was a welcome surprise.

If Taylor improves, he's going to be dangerous with a capital D.

Yeah, he never got his due for taking Hopkins twice. His win over Tarver helped redress that balance a bit. I enjoyed that fight - always thought Tarver was a bum

It was a great fight in the sense that some of Winky Wright's bouts in the past were sleep remedies. I remember those days of sitting/snoring through that never-ending Bronco McKart series - the Jermaine Taylor fight was like Hagler/Hearns compared to most of his previous snorebores.
