GAY PRIDE SEASON

Oh Lawd, here we go again. Gay Pride season is here and I'm already so damn tired.

I guess I've just been to so damn many that I'm Gay Pride Festivitied out. Maybe I'll go to one. San Jose's is kinda boring. The good thing is that I get to see old friends and tricks. The bad thing is that they're usually drunk.

San Francisco's is always interesting maybe I'll go to that.

I'm only sayin'.....

i really want to skip the antwerp and amsterdam prides this year
altho there are some people who seem to just assume that i will,
witouth having asked me, just tag along with them.

so it will be sulking faces all round when i tell them i plan on
skipping the entire pride thing for a year. i just can't be that
bothered right now.

all i want this summer is peace and quiet, lying about the lawn,
reading and eating/drinking.

You don't have to be gay to be on a float.

Oh.

I must admit, I don't attend these gay pride things. We don't get that many of them over here, as far as I'm aware - but then again, I live in an isolated village dominated by the catholic church where gays are routinely burnt at the stake.

Hence the word fag.

You may want to attend one of these days. A lot of gay guys have beautiful girl friends that they can introduce you to.

I've never been to a gay pride parade before and I'm thinking about going. I know NYC is really wild during that time but I always watched the stuff on the news. I might be brave this year. lol

all the pride festivities here in mpls kick off next friday--the parade isn't for another couple of weeks at least. the craziest thing about the pride parade for me is that i live only a block away from the main thoroughfare the parade's always on, over on hennepin avenue. all i gotta do is walk outta my apartment, cross the bridge, cross the street and highway off-ramp, walk up a block towards hennepin and i'm there. lol

last year's pride was fun, i hung out with a few of my friends. one of my friends, paul, was supposed to be in the PFLAG bit with his mom but they didn't show up (i've forgotten why)...by the time we all got to loring park (just up the street and where the parade leads to/ends) we were all totally burnt out because it was so hot outside and we'd been out for hours in the sun. hopefully the weather ain't as horrid this time around...i remember the year before last it actually rained a bit during the parade, but it still went on. rainbow

rainbo watch out for the saloon's float! edit

I'll be going to some of the events here in D.C. this weekend.

I'm not a huge fan of pride festivals, but they can be fun at times.

i read an article in the newest issue of the advocate about a pride event (forgot exactly what city it's being done in, i don't have the magazine nearby right now to look it up) that's totally family-friendly and crazy float-/half-nekkid twinks galore-free. it made me think of whatcha said last year on another pride-related thread...it ain't a bad idea in the least, it sounds like it'd be an awesome break from the madness.

that sounds awesome. it's cool to have your wild party fun parade but it's also good to have something a little more low key.
