my sister is ALWAYS telling me sordid details of all her friends, in-laws and aquaintances. Needless to say I never give her any personal information about myself
I can tell she is always on th lookout for a juicy morsel - the more scandalous or controversial the better. Her eyes just light up and she goes "Really!!" and you know that will spread like wildfire, which is good in some instances, like if you have a baby, you can save a lot on phone calls.

i hate having to listen to gossip. you never know what's true and after
you hear the most horrible gossip on someone you like it actually has a
bad effect on how you deal with them imo. it makes me uneasy, i always
fear people asking me "did they say that or that about me?" and such...

if it's facts, i don't mind talking about people. we all do it. but the
kind of gossip where people make shit up and badmouth people without
any reason just makes me feel ill.

what also bothers me is if a co-worker or friend buys a new house or a
nice new car or something and people are going "yeah, they don't really
deserve it. it's not nice anyway. i think it's payed with loans"

howcome no one can just be happy for others when nice things happen to
them. as long as i don't have to pay for their car or house i don't care
if they payed it cash or borrowed the money. what bussiness is that of
mine anyway?

When people start to gossip around me, I try to steer the conversation elsewhere.

I am guilty of doing it, but it bothers my spirit to much.

we all indulge to a degree, im not saying I dont, the main crux (what a strange word) of my arguement is the kind of gossip that is malicious is the sort she thrives on. not tittle tattle, but stuff like insinuating person A is having it away with Person B..which is based on absolutely zero evidence.

theres this woman she has a pathological hatred for, god knows why, because when shes around her she talks to her but she insinuates all kinds of stuff about her when this woman isnt in the vicinity.

anyhow, as far as i know she hasnt said anything about me, but who knows, and to be honest i couldnt care less if she did.

I love to listen to gossip, since I'm ridiculously interested in people's private lives. The juicier the better.

i like hearing gossip, its fun! But only if its about someone I know (otherwise I couldnt care less) and only if its true. Im not interested in bitchy gossip

i know people like this and i just avoid them and don't tell them anything. That gives them nothing to say and that makes me happy.
