It is good. When it works !!! .....

No serious, I had Norton for 3 years and then they introduced the Windows style "Key" system to activate your software. Problem after problem with that and nearly 4 hours of useless phone calls to a call centre where the staff are reading the same crappy list over and over.....Uninstall and reinstall.....thats all they kept telling me to do.....So after I got cheesed off I bought Mcafee.

Online Chat Helpdesk with someone who actually knows something about PC's and the Software you bought.....Much better.....

If you go to - www.symantec.com - Use the Online Virus Scan they offer ( I think it is ubder Security Response ) and the when it lists all the viruses you have, you can download and run certain removal tools. Dependant on the infection.

If you get stuck give me a PM I don't mind helping.

I would recommend NOT trying to install any anti-virus products just yet as cerain Viruses can mess with the installation - I used to run a Helpline for a Wireless Internet at a Uni and you would not believe the crap I saw !!!!!

Run the online Check first and remove any that have a removal tool available.

If you are using XP you seriously need to disable System Restore as Viruses will use that to reinfect your machine too.

http://security.symantec....&venid=sym

The above link will take you to a Web Page at Symantec - Just click go and then Virus detection. Dependant on Hard drive size it can take 45 mins to over an hour.

One more thing - Try and limit your online use as some Trojans actually use the PCs weaknesses to reinfect your machine with more (download viruses while you are online!! or worse infect other machines using your Outlook or windows adress book etc)

P.S Sorry if I blabbed on a bit - I have just finished a bottle of wine and tend to waffle on as I am doing now !!!!
