it's not in yet, i'll be cruisin with a mac in about a month

I seriously hope you don't think there is anything inside a Macintosh computer that would be capable of handling multimedia production in any different way than a PC does. In fact, even when we are talking about top-line professional multimedia production it's not even your Macintosh hardware that handles the most crucial parts of your project, rather it's a seperate piece of equipment installed inside the computer - and those are always manufactured by a 3rd party company. And mind you, these are EXACTLY the same pieces of hardware used on a PC computer - and these days they usually tend to work better on a PC computer due to the manufacturers' common interests and the simple fact that they manufacture their products first and foremost for the PC market.

Computers are very fast, powerful and flexible these days. They all run the same software or software that is perfectly capable handling exactly the same chores as any other piece of software you might favour on a different platform yourself. Even the cheapest bulk PC (or Macintosh for that matter) you can buy from the supermarket these days beats hands down all of the professional-level multimedia computers of the past. It's all down to the image brand you want to pay for them, but really, that's any Macintosh user's problem. Unless of course, you don't want to understand how computers work at all and Macs are better because of magic, or because Macintosh commercials are hilarious.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude at all as there's no reason for it. You've just one in the long like that's been brainwashed, and very easily it seems from what I can tell from this very little. You can be brainwashed by either camp, sure. But your only way to have any sort of authority even your own decisions is even try to understand some basics without resorting to naive "I've been told Macs are better" balony.





Then you must not have seen too many multimedia production facilities. Ask them why they use Macintosh systems, they'll tell you "Macs are better than PCs". Ask them why and they'll tell you "there are many reasons for that". Ask them about any of those reasons and they never know nothing about what they are talking about or are providing false information.

I don't plan to continue posting to this thread much further. We've had the same kind many many times. My only motif to contribute to them is in effort to prevent people get misinformed and spend too much money on too big promises. Money doesn't grow on trees, and the bottom line is that a PC is half the price of a Macintosh computer.
