I'm SO glad it's summer & everything is a rerun, as I watch entirely too much tv

But of course there are a few summer shows that I'm gonna check out:




THE CLOSER (TNT)





Always dug Kyra, this is a good little show & seems to be building on its audience from last year. I hope it stays on a while









SAVED (TNT)




Tom Everett Scott is the dude from That Thing You Do, hadn't found a decent vehicle since. I'm glad he held out for something that seems pretty good & didn't do every dumb piece of shit that came his way so we're sick of his face by now. There's something about his personality I like so I'm glad he's on a show & starring in it no less... I haven't watched the pilot yet but he seems perfect for the role - a paramedic w/ a little bit of an edge to him (from what they show in the previews)...









MY FAIR BRADY: We're Getting Married (VH1)






This is total guilty pleasure tv They're such an odd match & dumb enough to put part of their lives on tv. This can't possibly work out long term but I do enjoy watching them give it a go for now










WINDFALL (NBC)





This seems like it could be pretty good. A group of about 12 (or so) friends get together & play the lotto, actually end up winning. There's already an affair, a greedy husband trying to cash in before he signs divorce papers, a teen w/ overbearing parents who can't get his hands on the $ for a few months, etc. The only thing that they really blew it on was having a helicopter land in a trailer park to pick up one of the winners That would NEVER happen, no pilot would risk the damage... BUT with shows like this you often have to suspend belief & just go w/ it. It's also nice to see Luke Perry playing the husband who's being cheated on instead of the "it" guy for a change. Diggin' it so far









If they bring The Biggest Loser (NBC) back I'll watch that shit too, they always inspire me to do crunches while I watch


And to this day I'm STILL trying to find time to get into Rescue Me (FX), I hear it's really good but I just can't seem to get to it


On another note, I don't know what happened to Thief (FX), it seemed like it was gonna be good but I only got about 4 episodes on my Tivo. I was shocked to see them kill off the wife so soon, but I'd watch Andre Braugher in ANYTHING...



Actually after some digging, it looks like they've cancelled it already I'm still mad they cancelled Andre's last show Gideon's Crossing

They're using the photo-flashes thing (ala Run Lola Run) w/ each new case, which I like. But unless the writing/directing gets better I dunno

CalhounSq ... the biggest loser on NBC is off for the summer and will return in the fall. I work for an NBC affiliate.

Anyway, summer shows? Only one, and yes, it is on NBC -- Last Comic Standing.

Their music budget must be HUGE 2 Jimi songs, 1 Doors song, 1 Police... the Wallflowers (?), Johnny Cash... more songs to come too... Bowie/Queen in the promos (Under Pressure)... DAMN, nice...

I am curious to see what might come of this season's Big Brother on CBS.

This year's cast will consist entirely of prior houseguests: six being chosen by the viewing public, six chosen by CBS. (three men and three women in each group)

I have not watched since Season 3 as casts in recent years have become rather uninteresting to me, but with the possibility of evil Dr. Will returning I may have to check it out.
